Apply In-Person

  1. A person desirous of applying for a Franking Machine license must visit the District post office. Details of regional Post Office link. Enter the name of the State, city, and the Captcha to find out the details of the concerned office.
  2. First, the applicant should buy a "Digi Frank Plus" franking machine of any model approved by the Department of Posts from an authorized Franking Machine Vendor.
  3. The applicant should then visit the Post office and pay the fee stated, 375 INR for the license.
  4. The concerned officer will generate an ACG-67 receipt for the payment.
  5. After the payment, the applicant can apply for the license along with the receipt through the Franking machine vendor.
  6. The application forms are available at the post office.
  7. Applicants must provide the list of clients and consent letters from the clients.
  8. Once the application is verified, the license is approved.
  9. The licensing authority authenticates the soft copies with his signature and designation stamp.
  10. The applicant will be given a username and password for uploading details of the licenses like License Identifier, License Number/CRN, date of issue/expiry of the license, Licensee name/address/contact numbers, License Type, designated post office/DMO/DFPO.
  11. The status of the license is altered to "Registered" after the previous step is completed.
  12. The post office will mail the hard copy to the applicant and keep one for the records.
  13. The license certificate is issued within ten days of application. Any reason for delay will be notified to the applicant.


Apply Online

  1. A person desirous of applying for a Franking Machine license must visit the India Post website link.
  2. If you are a new user, click on the "Register" button in the top left corner.
  3. Select the "Corporate" option.
  4. Enter name, contact details, address, hint question, and Captcha. Then, click on the "Submit" button.
  5. The activation link, along with the username and password, will be sent to the registered email id.
  6. Activate the account by clicking on the link and log in.
  7. To apply for a new license, the applicant must first deposit the required fee.
  8. The applicant can either visit the nearby post office or pay the deposit online through the India Post website with the registered account.
  9. Click on the “Banking & Remittance” option to start the Franking Machine License application process.
  10. The applicant can pay through Postal Saving Bank/net banking/credit card/debit card.
  11. After choosing method of payment, follow the instruction on the screen until the payment is successful and the receipt is generated.
  12. After payment, save the receipt details generated to apply for the license.
  13. Find the e-form by clicking on the "Business Solution" option and selecting "Franking Services" under it.
  14. Finally, click on the "Franking Machine License" and fill in the application form.
  15. Upload the required documents and fill in the required fields.
  16. Click on the "Submit" button.
  17. After verification, the registered e-mail id will get information about downloading the certificate.
  18. The applicant can download the license certificate online or visit the concerned post office and collect the certificate.

After the license has been issued, the applicant should also deposit an advance for the first setting for a minimum amount of 2000 INR into the branch of the designated Bank to be credited into the DOP account against the License Identifier.
