ProcedureEdit

  • The subsidy for bee-keeping will be available for activities on development of nucleus stock of Honey Bees, Bee Breeding, Distribution of Honey Bee Colonies, Hives and Bee-keeping equipment’s.


Apply in person

  1. In order to avail this benefit, applicant shall contact the respective Horticulture Office of the concerned district.
  2. Link for the office contact details link please refer our “Office Locations & Contacts” section for contact details.
  3. Go to the respective office.
  4. Meet the designated staff at the respective section. If the scheme is available, the applicant shall get the advice from the authority to be followed to apply for this subsidy.
  5. Collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.
  6. Complete the application form. Attach the entire required document as per our “Required Documents” section and submit it to the “District Horticulture Officers” / designated receiving authority in person. Please submit the application set in triplicate.
  7. After receiving the application, the authority will issue an acknowledgement slip for the receipt of the application along with one attested application set.
  8. Please collect it and keep it safe for future reference.
  9. This application will be processed by the respective department. Forward of application to respective agencies for their reference and comments will be processed.
  10. As per requirement, reference from Collectrate will be solicited. Collectrate reference and recommendation will be considered for deciding the eligibility of candidate.
  11. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile.
  12. Applicant should follow the notification regularly. Any shortfall in documents and clarity of details may be intimated through ‘SMS’
  13. If the application is found complete in all respects, the department will allot a unique work order for the correct and complete application in the order of their receipt.
  14. The work order for grant of subsidy will be signed by the “Agricultural Development Officer” / designated authority.
  15. The Assistant Director of Horticulture of the respective district will provide permission attestation. The Deputy Director of Horticulture for the respective district will countersign the approved work order.
  16. Thus, the sanction approval will be notified to the applicant through ‘SMS’.
  17. This work order will be hand delivered or delivered as per applicable norms.


NOTE:
  • The department of horticulture announces plans for disbursement of such subsidies through electronic and printing media. It is advised to regularly follow the local newspaper for such announcements.

EligibilityEdit

  • Applicant between the ages of 18 and 55 are eligible to apply.
  • One person from one family is eligible to apply.
  • Applicants already trained in Bee-keeping activity by KVIC/NABARD/KVK and other approved training centres are eligible to apply.
  • All those farmers involved in Bee keeping with own land or having registered lease land is eligible to apply for this subsidy.



FeesEdit

  • The Bee keeping subsidy are provided under three categories.
    • Honey bee colony.
    • Honey hive.
    • Honey extractor.
  • The State government provides a subsidy of 40% assistance for Bee keeping (installation of bee hives and colonies).


Note: In few states the percentage of this subsidy is more than 40%. Please find the percentage of subsidy from the authority while applying.



ValidityEdit

  • This approved work order should be used within the timeline as advised by the sanctioning authority.
  • The subsidy benefit will be passed on to the respective bank account against the loan availed or credited to the applicants account upfront at the time of purchase of the unit.

InstructionsEdit

  • Bee-keepers who failed to multiply their bee colonies from 10 to 18 over a year should surrender all their bee colonies, hives and kits.
  • Do not submit fake documents as a proof to get this sanction.
  • Incomplete application will be rejected.
  • Avoid spelling mistakes while filling the application form.
  • Don’t forget to take all the originals of the document along with copy for applying.
  • Ensure that application is complete before submission.

  • This subsidy work order issued by the horticulture department of respective state will be helpful to get the bank loans.
  • This subsidy enhances the quality of honey production and other bee hive products for overseas and domestic markets, besides enhancing productivity of various crops through bee pollination.
  • Thus, increasing the employment opportunity in rural sector and thus enhancing the ancillary income of the beekeepers & farmers.

  • In order to maximize agricultural production, honey-bee can be used as an important input. The responsibility of coordinating the bee-keeping development programme in the State will be vested in the identified State Designated Agency (SDA).
  • National Bee Board (NBB) will be responsible for providing technical support as well as implementation of promotional programmes relating to the bee-keeping.
