NOC to renew other state driving license - (Please check with local RTO whether NOC is required before processing)

  1. Renewal of driving license for the one obtained from another state can be processed with the NOC obtained from home state RTO.
  2. As a first step, get a NOC (No Objection Letter) from the RTO that issued the license initially
    (a). Applicant can get the NOC on directly applying in his home town RTO
    (b). If it is not possible to go to the issuing RTO physically, send a letter requesting for NOC. Please send it using either India Post's Registered Post with Acknowledgement Due or through Speed Post with Acknowledgement Due. You will receive the acknowledgement confirming that the letter has been received by the RTO (that issued the license).
  3. Retain the following -
    (i). Copy of the NOC request letter
    (ii). The acknowledgement slip/card that you received via regular post/mail
Note : For renewal of home state license, you don’t require the NOC.

Apply In-Person

  1. If the application for renewal is made previous to, or not more than 30 days - after the date of expiry of the licence, the renewal will be made with effect from the date of its expiry.
  2. If the application is made more than 30 days after the date of expiry of the licence, the renewal will be made with effect from the date of receipt of proper application. In such cases a sum of fee will be realised.
  3. To renew your driver license in Madhya Pradesh the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to.

  9. The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying
  10. Application forms can also be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that should be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
  11. Present the completed application forms along with required documents in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
  12. If the driver license renewal authority is satisfied with the application and the documents submitted, the driver license will be renewed.

Apply through State Portal - Madhya Pradesh Renew Motor Vehicle Driver License from Other State online with Images

  1. In order to apply online, please follow the link online state portal link
  2. Select “License application and appointment system” option in the drop down menu under “Online services”.
  3. In the next window, please select the Renewal under DL- Driving License section to get the next page
  4. Here enter the prompted details and hit “apply” to go to the next screen
  5. Here, enter / select prompted details and complete the page by selecting appropriate option.
  6. Also one can pay the fees through the page
  7. Upon completion, an application slip will be generated. Take the printout and go to RTO office on appointment day to complete the procedure.
  8. At the RTO office, Present the printout of application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
  9. From this point the process of apply in person will be carried out to issue renewed license

EligibilityEdit


  • An application for renewal shall be made not more than one month before the date of expiry of the license.
  • If the application is late for more than five years after the date of expiry of the license, the applicant should undergo all the formalities to obtain a fresh license.

ValidityEdit


  • License to drive a Non-Transport Vehicle is valid for 20 years from the date of issue or until the holder attains the age of 50 years, whichever is earlier. After that, the License is renewed every 5 years.
  • Transport Vehicle License is valid for a period of 3 years from the date of issue or renewal.

The application for the renewal of a license is made more than 30 days after the date of its expiry, the driving license shall be renewed with effect from the date of its renewal.

  • As per Motor Vehicle Act 1988, a valid Driving License is necessary to drive any motor vehicle on public roads
  • Government has enforced validity for Driving license. Whenever the validity of driving license lapse or the period for renewal is attained, then the application for renewal has to made in respective RTO.
  • This renewed driving license will be considered as a proof of residence
