Apply In-Person
- To apply for a Learner Driver License in Madhya Pradesh the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to.

- Application form can be downloaded using the following link: Application forms and Form 1
- Application Forms No3, No 1 A, No 1 is required.
- The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying by reading through the eligibility criteria that has been listed out under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
- Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
- Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that should be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
- Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
- You will be requested to take a theory test, to make sure you understand the rules and regulation related to driving a vehicle and if you clear the test, you will be provided a LLR.
- If you fail the test, you will be allowed to re-take the test as advised by authorities
Apply through State Portal - Madhya Pradesh Obtain a Learner Driver Licence online with Images
- In order to apply online, please follow the link online state portal link
- Select “License application and appointment system” option in the drop down menu under “Online services”.
- In the next window, please select New under “LL-Learner License” to get new screen.
- In the new page enter / select prompted details and complete the page by click selecting “Apply Learning License”.
- You will be prompted “Are you sure everything is correct”, please click “Ok”
- In the next window details of application and appointment for your visit will be displayed. Please check for correctness and scroll down to view the details about fees to be paid.
- You will be prompted to select option to pay. Select the option suitable for you to pay online and hit “Make Payment”.
- You will be prompted to click “ok” if all the details are correct otherwise click “cancel”.
- On selecting “Ok”, again there will be an prompt “I hereby accept the terms and conditions”
- Payment gateway proceeds to complete the payment.
- Upon completion, an application slip will be generated. Take the printout and go to RTO office on appointment day to complete the procedure.
- At the RTO office, Present the print out of application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
- From this point the process of apply in person will be carried out to grant the license
Apply for Re-Test
- In order to apply online, please follow the link online state portal link
- Select “License application and appointment system” option in the drop down menu under “Online services”.
- In the next window, please select the LL-ReTest under “Re-test Appointment”
- In the next page, enter the reference id obtained at the time of applying and hit “Apply” to process online and get the Retest scheduled.
Apply for Print Form/Receipt
- In order to apply online, please follow the link online state portal link
- Select “License application and appointment system” option in the drop down menu under “Online services”.
- In the next window, please select the Print Form/Receipt under “Click here to resolve print and payment issue”
- In the next page, enter / select the required details and “Search Data” to process online and get the printout.
Apply for Print Learner License
- In order to apply online, please follow the link online state portal link
- Select “License application and appointment system” option in the drop down menu under “Online services”.
- In the next window, please select the Print LL under “Click here to resolve print and payment issue”
- In the next page, enter / select the required details and hit “Search License” to process online and get the printout.

- Applicants for a Learner's License should appear personally before the Licensing Authority with the following documents.

- Proof of age, appropriate for relevant class of vehicle.
- Ration card, Voter identity card, Life insurance policy, Passport, School certificate, Birth certificate
- Age certification by a registered medical practitioner not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon

- Proof of residence
- Ration Card, Voter identity card, Pay slip issued by any office of the central government or a state government; Electricity bill, Telephone bill, House tax receipt showing the name of the name of the applicant

- Applicants for Transport Vehicle License must produce a Permanent Driving License for Light Motor Vehicle held by him, at least for one year.

- Note:If the applicant is not able to produce address or age proof documents for a sufficient reason the licensing authority may accept any affidavit sworn by the applicant before an Executive Magistrate, or a First Class Judicial Magistrate or a Notary Public as evidence

EligibilityEdit
- Any person who has completed
- 16 years of age is eligible to get a license for driving a Motor Cycle without Gear - Not exceeding 50 cc.
- 18 years of age is eligible to get a license for driving a Motor Cycle with Gear and Light Motor Vehicle.
- 20 years of age is eligible to get a license for driving a Transport Vehicle, if he/she has One year old license
- Those who apply for permanent license has to get LLR
- Also, no person shall be granted a learners license to drive a medium or heavy goods vehicle or passenger vehicle unless he has held a driving license valid for a light motor vehicle (LMV) for at least one year.
- NOTE : A person who is at least 20 years old and possesses a Learners License can obtain a License for driving a commercial vehicle. Also, one has to be conversant with the traffic rules and regulations in all the cases

- Learner's Licence is valid only for six months from the date of obtaining it.
- Note: One can apply for a permanent license only after a month after receiving Learner's License

- College students should contact their principal's office for applying for Learner License. Approach your nearest customer service centre or Licensing Authority RTO.
- It is mandatory to present yourself in front of Licensing Authority to obtain the learner License Licensing authority will conduct the test of applicant and passes candidates are allowed to obtain the Learner License. Here digital data for the applicant is captured.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- In India, two kinds of Driving Licenses are issued: Learners License and Permanent License. A Learners License is essential for obtaining a Permanent License.
- Learners license (LLR) is a permit given by local transport department for learning driving before obtaining a permanent license. The learner’s license has a validity period of 6 months and the holder of the permit should obtain a permanent driving license before the expiry of this period, if not renewed. In addition a permanent driver license can only be issued after 1 month of obtaining a learner's license.
- A Driving License is an official document certifying that the holder is suitably qualified to drive a motor vehicle. Under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act,1988 in India
- No person can drive a motor vehicle in any public place unless he holds a valid Driving License issued to him.
