Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for Vehicle Fitness certificate (FC) in Madhya Pradesh the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to.

3. Application form can be downloaded using the following link: Application forms
   
4. Also make sure you have all the necessary documents to process the application
   
5. The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying for this procedure
   
6. Make sure you have completed application form : Form 38
   
7. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices
   
8. The applicant should bring in their vehicle for inspection.
   
9. Present the completed application forms in the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
   
10. Inspection of vehicle for correctness as per norms will be carried out to issue FC
    
    

Apply through State Portal

1. In order to apply online, please follow the link online state portal link
   
2. Select “Online Fitness / NOC” option in the drop down menu under “Online services”.
   
3. In the next page, Create new user ID and login using the credentials.
   
4. Please select the “Apply For Fitness/Noc” option to get the next window
   
5. Enter the registration number of the vehicle and hit “Get Data”
   
6. Please click “Ok” for the popup message for correct registration number to get fresh page with details of vehicle.
   
7. Please select “Fitness New” under Fitness certificate option to get the details to enter
   
8. Applicant has to enter / select appropriate option and proceed as applicable for processing
   
9. In the next page please make necessary payment.
   
10. Payment received message will flash.
    
11. Use the print receipt tab on top menu bar to get printout of the receipt.
    
12. Take the printout and go to RTO office to complete the procedure.
    
13. At the RTO office, submit the print out along with documents in one of the counter and officials would start processing your application.
    
14. From this point the process of apply in person will be carried out to issue FC

Eligibility

• Vehicle should be produced for inspection

Validity

• In case of Private vehicles the fitness certificates is valid for 15 years and there after renewed at every 5 years
  
• In case of Transport Vehicles the fitness certificate is issued for a new vehicle for 2 years and subsequently renewed every year

Instructions

For every vehicle which Commercial, it is essential for a vehicle owner to have a fitness certificate for his/her vehicle from concerning Regional Transport Department (RTO). Online Fitness/Noc System works only for Commercial Vehicles. For a new vehicle the Fitness certificate is issued for two years for Transport Vehicles (Commercial Vehicles). On expiry of the same it is renewed for next one year within in one month from the date of expiry.

Need for the Document

• The registration of vehicle is treated as valid only if the vehicle has valid certificate of fitness. Fitness certificate for a vehicle in Madhya Pradesh is required to renew the current status of the vehicle
  
• The fitness is checked and certified by the Registering Authority
  
• Fitness certificate is issued to check the pollution caused by the emission of smoke from the vehicles, to maintain the vehicle in proper condition and to avoid accidents
  
• Fitness Certificate is an official document certifying that the holder’s vehicle is fit to drive at public places
  
  

Information which might help

• An applicant should apply for renewal of his vehicle Fitness Certificate within 30 days from the date of expiry of its validity
  
• RTO officials has the right to decide upon the issue of certificate
