Madhya Pradesh - How to Pay Electricity Bill

Electricity bill payment for the electricity consumed by a consumer shall be paid to the respective state electricity board (department).
“Madhya Pradesh Power Generation Company Limited” (MPPGCL) is the electricity board operating within the state of Rajasthan. The government-run power companies - Madhya Pradesh Pashchim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Ltd. (MPPKVVCL), Madhya Pradesh Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Ltd. (MPMKVVCL) and Madhya Pradesh Poorv Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Ltd. (MPPKVVCL) are the consumer service provider for Madhya pradesh.
Payment of electricity bill shall be paid by
1. Pay Online
2. Pay In-Person
3. Pay through App
4. Pay through other sources

Tariff:

There is different amount charged for residential and commercial users. The rate of per unit charge varies with state to state and as per the slab decided by the respective electricity board.

Pay in person

Consumers shall pay their electricity bill in the respective electricity office. Please use the below links to get contact details of respective circle

Go to the respective center and pay your bill amount along with the bill to make payment
The counter staff will issue you the receipt for the payment made

How to pay Electricity Bill through MPOnline

Go to Online portal
Click on Citizen Services from the top menu and select “Bill Payment” from the listed options to get sub options. Here select “Electricity”
A new page opens with list of service providers to choose from. Please select the appropriate service provider tab option for your circle to reach a fresh page.
This page provides name of place to choose from. Select the place appropriate for you to get Online electricity bill payment page except for Indore/Ujjain Circle.
1. For Indore/Ujjain Circle option, user will be directed directly in to below step.
2. Here, user shall select / Enter applicable details (Id or IVRS id, Service number, Mobile no. and Email id) amd then hit “Submit” tab to reach next page
Here the details for the provided id will be displayed, user after viewing the details, can enter the amount decided to pay and hit “Proceed for Payment” tab provided at the bottom to reach payment gateway page.
In the payment gateway page, please select the type of payment(Credit / Debit / Net Banking) and provide required details at prompted places and hit make payment to reach the successive page.
User should follow the screen prompt for the payment mode selected to complete online payment transaction.
Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgement. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.

Smart Bijlee Mobile App

This app can be downloaded using the Google play store. Link for download :Play store link
Once the app is installed, user has to login to access the options.
Once logged in, user will get the screen with options to choose, please select View / Pay bill option to pay.
Once the next screen reached, please provide the prompted details and proceed for making payment using appropriate option.
Once the payment gateway page is reached, user can select respective payment gateway option to make the payment.
Please fill in the applicable details and follow the screen prompts to progress for completing the online payment process.
Once the payment is made, an acknowledgement for the payment received will be prompted. User can save / print it for future reference

BBPS (Bharath Bill Payment System)

Use the following link to pay at your area BBPS outlet as per pin code: BBPS outlet link
Please select “find nearest Bharat BillPay outlet” option provided at the bottom of the page.
Enter your pin code at the box provided and hit “Go” to reach the next page with contact
details. Please follow the page to get the details of payment outlet and pay their directly

Use the following link to pay as per your Bank/Non-Bank for Quick Bill Payment: BBPS Quick bill payment option
Please select the Respective electricity department and follow the screen prompt and proceed further to make the payment

Other Apps to pay

Users shall use the private app’s to make payment of electricity bill. Please make sure with the respective department officials to confirm about these service providers to make payment.
Electricity bill can be paid through following apps Paytm, Amazon, Freecharge, Mobikwik etc,.

Apply through phone:

To Pay Electricity Bill, the applicant can download any type of payment app like Gpay, Phonepe, amazonpay, paytm.
The applicant has to download the app and needs to complete the registration process.
For registration enter the mobile number and in given number the applicant gets the OTP number, enter that and add on the bank account in the app.
For paying electricity bill, the applicant has to search the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board.
To link the electricity account in the app, the applicant has to enter the consumer number.
- NOTE: format of the consumer number – “Regional code, section distribution, and service number.
And enter the name (optional), and add the registered mobile number which is given in the electricity board.
The applicant gets the monthly payment amount.
Now the applicant has to click the “Pay” button and enter the amount.
Followed by enter the password and the payment will be processed.
There is no fee for this app.
The processing time for this procedure is within a minute.

The individual should be a resident of the state.
Consumers are eligible to pay the electricity bill.
Every applicant has to have a meter reading to calculate consumption

FeesEdit

Electricity bills are generated with the slab rates applicable for the units consumed as per the state regulations
As a consumer, it is mandatory to pay prescribed amount as advised by respective board. (even the electricity is not consumed, each states has different default charges levied to its active consumers and the same has to be paid)

The electricity bill generated for the period has to be paid before the due date.
There will be a penalty for late payment. Authorities has the power to suspend the connection
