ProcedureEdit

  1. You may submit your request to obtain a copy of a marriage certificate in person or you may appoint your spouse, children, parents, siblings, guardian or your lawyer, to apply for the procedure on your behalf by issuing a power of attorney. In the event that your lawyer will apply at the Conservatory in person, he may fill out the power of attorney, constituting an agent to make the request.
  2. Requests are submitted at the Civil Registry Office. Applicants may also submit their application at the Macao SAR Services Center.
  3. Pay all applicable fees.


If you are outside Macau

The applicant may also apply by post if he or she does not reside in Macao.

  1. Submit an application together with a photocopy of the respective identification document or indicate the identification data and a check to the order of the Civil Registry of Macao.
  2. Send your application and check payment to Rua do Campo, 162, Edf. Public Administration, 13th Floor, Macao (cost varies according to the number of sheets of the certificate, so the Conservatory requests applicants to consult the fee and stamp duty tables before making the request).
  3. Costs: The amount due for postage and stamp duty plus postage of MOP 30.00 and the amount charged by the bank for payment of checks issued abroad: MOP 40.00, if the check is in HKD, and MOP 200.00, if in USD.
  4. It will take about a month before you can receive the certificate that you requested.

Required DocumentsEdit

  • Original of the applicant's identification document.
  • If it is the spouse, children, parents, siblings or guardian, it is not necessary the power of attorney, but proof of the family relationship and the original identification document to make the request; photocopy of the identity document of the parties or the marriage certificate.
  • Lawyer of Macao must present the original of identification document and the original or photocopy of document of identification of the registered one; or power of attorney made by the attorney constituted power to the other person and also need the original document of identification of the prosecutor.

EligibilityEdit

The applicant must be over 18 years old.

You can apply for the procedure or you can appoint your spouse, children, parents, siblings, guardian or your lawyer, to apply for the procedure on your behalf by issuing a power of attorney.

If one of the aforementioned can not appear in person at the civil registry, you can appoint another person, by proxy, to make the request and indicate the respective reason.

FeesEdit

  • Narrative certificate (computer printout) or full copy certificate (photocopy): MOP 65.00 (50.00 emoluments and 15.00 stamp duty, adding, for each additional sheet, 5.00 stamp duty).
  • Certificate of full copy when it can not be extracted by photocopy (typed version): MOP 115.00 (100.00 of emoluments and 15.00 of stamp duty, adding, for each additional sheet, 5.00 of stamp duty).

Processing TimeEdit

  • Narrative certificate if the data has been entered on the computer and checked: You may collect your certificate within one hour after receipt of the request. (Except in the Macao SAR Service Center).
  • Full copy certificate: Must be completed within two working days of the working day following the receipt of the application with all necessary documents.
  • Full copy of the certificate where it can not be extracted by photocopying (typewritten version): It must be completed within three working days of the working day following receipt of the application with all necessary documents.
  • Requests sent by post: It will take about a month before you can receive the certificate that you requested.
