Procedure

How to Apply
Water connection

1. Applicants should visit any Water and Sewage Company (WASCO) agency office near them and express their interest at the customer care desk.
2. The staff at the customer care offices shall establish whether the area you stay in is reticulated by asking you some questions, for example, whether your immediate neighbours have water connections.
3. If the site is in a reticulated area, you will have to pay the survey fee, An WASCO inspector will then be dispatched to the site for an assessment to determine the estimate cost of the layout connection materials from the main water pipe. The maximum distance allowed to draw water from the main water pipe is 150 meters.
4. If the survey indicates that your site is within 150 meters, a quotation will be prepared immediately through GIS or within six working days to two weeks and you will be informed to collect it when it is ready.
5. You will then be required to pay for the security deposit fee, full connection fee or deposit a certain amount for the connection fee and pay the rest in instalment within 3 months.
6. Upon making payment of the required fee, you will receive external works, meter installation and water flow within 10 working days.

Sewage connection

1. Applicants should visit any Water and Sewage Company (WASCO) agency office near them and express their interest at the customer care desk.
2. The staff at the customer care offices shall establish whether the area you stay in is reticulated for the connection i.e. sewage network.
3. If the site is in a reticulated area, you will have to pay the survey fee, An WASCO inspector will then be dispatched to the site for an assessment to determine the estimate cost of the layout connection materials from the main sewer line. The maximum distance allowed to connect to a sewer line is 90 meters.
4. If the survey indicates that your site is within 90 meters, a quotation will be prepared immediately through GIS or within six working days to two weeks and you will be informed to collect it when it is ready.
5. You will then be required to pay the connection fee either in full amount or pay a 50% deposit and settle the remaining amount in instalments paid within a duration of one to six month.
6. Upon making payment of the full connection amount or the deposit, the external sewage connection will be carried out within 10 working days.

Water Supply Connection Fees:

• 1-25 meters- M1500
• 26-50 meters – M2500
• 51-100 meters- M3500
• 101-150 meters – M4500

Sewer Connection Fees

• 1-30 meters M3000
• 31-90 meters M4560

Validity

• Water and sewage connection are valid forever, but failure to pay the water and sewage bills will lead to disconnection and termination of the service by the WASCO
