- To Apply for Trader License, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Trade and Industry link
- Research the specific licensing requirements for the applicant’s type of sales agency. Contact the relevant government department or agency to inquire about the necessary licenses, permits, or approvals required for his/her business.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- This entire process can be completed within 3 - 4 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit
The applicant is eligible to apply for a trader's license in Lesotho if the applicant meets the following criteria:
- The applicant must be a citizen of Lesotho or a permanent resident of Lesotho.
- The applicant must be at least 18 years old.
- The applicant must have a valid Lesotho identity card or passport.
- The applicant must have a clean criminal record.
- The applicant must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- The applicant must have a business premises in Lesotho.
- The applicant must have a valid business registration certificate from the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
- The applicant must have a valid tax clearance certificate from the Lesotho Revenue Authority.
- The applicant must have a letter of good conduct from the police.
