Apply In Person

1. To Apply for Sales Agency License, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Trade and Industry link
2. Identify the type of sales agency the applicant intends to operate. Sales agencies can involve various products or services, such as consumer goods, industrial equipment, or technology products.
3. Before applying for a sales agency license,the applicant may need to register his/her business with the appropriate authorities in Lesotho. This may involve obtaining a trading license or business registration certificate.
4. Research the specific licensing requirements for the applicant’s type of sales agency. Contact the relevant government department or agency to inquire about the necessary licenses, permits, or approvals required for his/her business.
5. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.

8. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
9. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
10. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
11. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
12. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
13. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
14. After obtaining the sales agency license, ensure that the applicant complies with all relevant regulations and requirements while conducting his/her business operations.
15. This entire process can be completed within 3 - 4 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Eligibility

The applicant can apply for the sales agency license in Lesotho if he/she meets the following criteria:

• The applicant must be a citizen of Lesotho.
• The applicant must be at least 18 years old.
• The applicant must have a valid Lesotho identity card or passport.
