Eligibility

The following persons are entitled to receive the state social security allowance in case of the loss of a supporter (hereinafter referred to as the allowance) citizens and non-citizens of Latvia, foreigners and stateless persons.

• Who have lost a supporter.
• Who are residing in the territory of Latvia permanently.
• Who have been assigned a personal identity number.
  
  

Note :People who have received a temporary residence permit in Latvia are not entitled to receive the allowance.

Fees

Explain the fees structure which is required for obtaining the certificate/document.

Validity

Explain the time until which the certificate/document is valid.

Time for claiming
Allowance can be requested within 12 months from the day of death of the (family) supporter. If the person exceeds the time limit, the monthly allowance is paid only for the 12 previous months, starting from the day of applying for the state social allowance.
