Procedure

In-Person

1. The applicant can approach one of the State Social Insurance Agency (SSIA) offices where an application can be made.
2. The application form can be downloaded from the following link : More information and Application Form
3. Also, make sure you have all the documents that are listed under the Required Documents section of this page.

Note : When applying for the pension a personal ID document has to be produced.

• Documents proving insurance period (if there are insurance periods before 1996).

Eligibility

• Has not reached the retirement age determined by the law.
• Has been acknowledged to be disabled (except the cases when disability has resulted from job accident or occupational disease after January 1 1997).
• Insurance period is not less than three years.
• Resides in Latvia.
