Applying process in Laos for citizen and non citizen.

a. Apply In-Person
  1. PCC can be applied in-person at People’s Supreme Court.
  2. Address :
    People’s Supreme Court,
    KM3 Tha deua Road, Sisattanak District,
    Vientiane, LAOS.
  3. Application forms can be obtained from the above office on your visit.
  4. Take the completed form to the Village Office with two passport sized photographs. Also take the Lao Family Book and ask the village chief to sign and stamp the form.
  5. Again go to the people’s supreme court office as per the address above. Don’t forget to take the required copy of documents along with originals to the office.
  6. Please follow as per authorities guidelines and submit the completed application along with documents.
  7. Applicant should pay for any charges if required as advised.
  8. This application will be processed by respective department.
  9. The certificate can be collected from the office where applicant applied in-person or will be delivered through mail upon notification or issued as per norms.


Applying process – overseas for both citizen and non citizen

a. Apply at embassy or consulate
  1. Applicant can apply at their nearest embassy or consulate in person. Link to locate the embassy or consulate: link
  2. Application form can be obtained from the embassy or consulate. Call the office and fix appointment for personal visit. Also find out the details for this procedure.
  3. On the scheduled date, go to the office with all the document in original and in copy. Please follow as per officer guidelines to process your application.
  4. This application will be processed by the respective department. The completed certificates are forwarded to the concern.
  5. Applicant shall collect the certificate with the respective office upon notification or can get it delivered as per norms applicable.

EligibilityEdit

  • Applicant with valid passport and a valid address proof.
  • Age: 16 years and above. In case of minors, the application must be submitted by the parent exercising parental authority, if the minor has not turned 16 years.
  • The current address of the applicant must be same as in the passport and other supporting documents.
  • Applicants who are in need of residential status, employment or long term visa or for immigration to a foreign nation.

A police certificate is an official document issued by police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. Criminal records may include arrest, conviction, and possibly criminal proceedings. Police certificate is also known as good citizen certificate, good conduct certificate, police clearance certificate, or judicial record extracts. Applicants may have to submit fingerprints and certain personal information to request a criminal record check, and the police or government agency may charge a fee. If no record found, the police certificate will indicate such.

Need for the DocumentEdit

A police certificate is an official document issued by police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. Criminal records may include arrest, conviction, and possibly criminal proceedings.

It is a copy of your criminal record or a declaration of the absence of any criminal record. Police clearance certificates are different in each country and territory and may be called police certificates, good conduct certificates, judicial record extracts, pcc, etc. They are issued by police authorities or government departments and used by Citizenship and Immigration to prevent individuals who possess a risk to Country's security from entering the country.

Citizens (resident and non-resident): Apply in person or family or friends can apply on your behalf.

Obtain an application form from the address above.

Take the completed form to the Village Office with two passport sized photographs. Also take the Lao Family Book and ask the village chief to sign and stamp the form.

Lodge the completed form at the address above.

Non-citizens (resident in Laos): The Village Office needs to be aware of your residence. If you have not already informed the village chief, you may be required to have your address certified. Without the Village Office being aware of your presence (current or past) in their village, the police certificate cannot be issued.

You need to take your Lao ID card and passport and ask the village chief to sign and stamp the form. Lodge the completed form at the address above.

Non-citizens no longer living in Laos: You will need to contact your nearest Lao embassy or consulate.

Processing time: the certificate is usually issued within a week.

Police clearance certificate is an official document issued by the police in a country, certifying the criminal record or otherwise of the applicant. Ideally, every adult who has been a resident in any country for six months and over requires a police clearance certificate from that country when applying for visa or immigration services.

Sometimes people who intend to work abroad or in highly sensitive establishments also require reports of good behavior, especially from the police, before they are allowed to work.
