Apply Online
- Please use the following link to register a drone online link
- In the given page, please click “RPAS Enlisting” option.
- Applicant will reach online applying page. Please go through the instructions and click the “ENLIST MY DRONE” button at the bottom.
- Applicant will get a new page with set of prompts. Please fill in the details as appropriate and complete the captcha as applicable. Finally, click the “GENERATE OTP” button.
- Applicant will receive the “OTP” in their mobile number. Please enter the received “OTP” at the appropriate space and click the applicable button to get a mail in your email ID.
- Go to your email ID. Please find the “Digital Sky Drone Enlistment – Account created – Verify your email" mail in your inbox (please look for spam folder too if not listed under your usual inbox). Open the mail and click the given link in your email to reach “Select a profile to continue” page. Here, select your type as applicable.
- Applicant will reach a new page as per the profile type selected. Please complete the page prompts as appropriate. Upload aadhaar card image (front and back scanned on same page picture).
- Please click the checkbox for “I hereby, submit…” option and continue to fill the mandatory details as appropriate and also upload other relevant documents as applicable.
- Finally, click the “Submit” button.
- Applicant will get a new screen with an “OAN - Owner acknowledgement number”. The same will be sent to your register email ID too (the email may reach your mail ID within 48 hours). Please use it in all your future communication.
- Once the “OAN” is obtained, please go to the top and click “Back to My Drones” button.
- Applicant will get a message stating “You don’t have any ‘Enlisted’ Drones”. Please click the “Enlist new drone” button.
- Applicant will reach “Enlist New Drone” page. Please complete “STEP 1” prompts as appropriate and click “SAVE & CONTINUE” button.
- Now, applicant will get prompts for “STEP 2”. Please complete the prompts as appropriate and click “SAVE & CONTINUE” button to reach “STEP3”.
- Please upload applicable files as per the upload prompts provided. Click the checkbox for “I hereby” and click the “SAVE & PREVIEW” button.
- Applicant will be provided with the preview of the entered details. Please go through the details and if all are correct, then use the “GET DAN” button. A system generated message with “DAN”. (Drone Acknowledgement Number) will be provided. Please save it for future reference. The same will be sent to your email ID (the email may reach your mail ID within 48 hours).
- Thus the “OAN - Owner acknowledgement number” and “DAN - Drone Acknowledgement Number” is obtained by registering through the “DigitalSky” portal.
- NOTE:
- Each drone will require a fresh enlistment. Since a drone owner may have multiple drones, the owner shall use the same “OAN” to enlist all drones owned by him. A separate “DAN” will be issued for each drone.

Required DocumentsEdit
- Copy of any utility bill (Electricity, water, gas, fixed line telephone or mobile phone) or a bank statement not older than 3 months. In case you use the bank statement, you may black out the financial details on the bank statement.
- Copy of the highest educational qualification (required only for individual owners).
- PAN card of organization (not required for individual owners).
- Scanned copy of passport’s first and last page (in one sheet) OR aadhaar card’s front and back view (in one sheet).
- Letter on official letterhead certifying appointment of authorized signatory (not required for individual owners).
- Three high quality pictures of your drone. (i) Front-view, (ii) Top-view and (iii)a close-up view of the manufacturer’s serial number. Each picture should have a physical measuring-scale placed adjacent to the drone in order to provide a reasonable approximation of its dimensions.
- Scanned copy of passport
- Note:
- Apart from the above listed documents, please provide additional information or document as per requirement.
- Each document or photograph should be below 300KB in size.

EligibilityEdit
- The applicant should be eighteen years old.
- Those who bought a drone are eligible to apply.
- The applicant must possess aadhaar or passport to apply.
- If the applicant is a firm then, they need to have PAN card.
FeesEdit
- No fees required.
- During online process, please pay if the online payment is prompted.
ValidityEdit
- As long as the government issues or announce any change in the policy, the “OAN - Owner acknowledgement number” and “DAN - Drone Acknowledgement Number” generated is valid for that particular owner and the drone respectively.

Processing TimeEdit
- Once the online process is complete, applicant shall note down the “OAN - Owner acknowledgement number” and “DAN - Drone Acknowledgement Number”. The same will be sent to your email ID in within the next 48 hours.

- Ownership of a drone in India without a valid “OAN” and “DAN” shall invite penal action as per applicable laws.
- Possession of an “OAN” or “DAN” does not confer the right to operate the drone in India. Kindly refer to Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) and other notifications issued by DGCA from time to time for information regarding ownership and operation of drones.
- Each document or photograph should be below 300 KB in size.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- In order to ensure the safety and to identify the owner of a drone, the registration of the drone Is required.
- Ownership of drone without registration shall invite penal actions so, register a drone to avoid such scenario.
Information which might helpEdit
- Import of drones and drone components shall be regulated by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
- Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA), autonomous aircraft and model aircraft are various sub-sets of unmanned aircraft. An unmanned aircraft system (UAS) is an aircraft and its associated elements, which are operated with no pilot on board.
- NOTE:
It is a punishable offence to try with fraudulent documents to get the drone registered.
