Apply In Person

  1. To Apply for Prospecting Permit or License in Ladakh, the applicant has to approach Indian Bureau of Mines link or Ladakh Department of Mines and Geology link
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer or the applicant can download the application form from the following link
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete forms are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Submit the completed form and the supporting documents to the concerned officer.
  7. Concerned authorities will look into the application form and submitted documents before providing the permit.
  8. Once all the verification process is done by the authority, the applicant receives a notification through a mail.
  9. The applicant gets the license by visiting the office.
  10. The processing time for this procedure is within 15 – 30 days.

EligibilityEdit

  • The applicant who applying for a prospecting license should be an Indian National or a company registered in India under the company act in 1956.



FeesEdit

  • For prospecting license, the applicant has to pay of Rs.250.0 per sq.km or part thereof and Rs.250.00 for each additional sq.km.


Note:
The fee may varies based on the land



ValidityEdit

  • The prospecting license initially granted for the period of 3 – years. The license can be renewed for the period of not exceeding 2 years.

  • For an applicant, the maximum area that can be granted for one or more prospecting licenses in respect of any mineral shall not exceed 25 [sq.km Link] in a state.
