Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Press Accreditation Card, the applicant has to Visit the Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Leh link.

   Note : You need to give appointment letter and if they are agreed you can visit the office and meet them.

2. Refer the Office and Contact section for contact details.
3. Please make sure you are eligible to make the application by going through the eligibility criteria provided under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
4. Describe your publication in the letter and state that you are requesting press passes and give it to the concerned authority in the department.
5. Get the application form from them or write it on an A4 sheet.
6. Fill the application form and attach all the required documents mentioned in the required documents section of this page and submit it to the concerned authorities.
7. Pay the required amount as quoted by the authorities.
8. The authorities which check each and everything related to apply the Press Pass and if you eligible they will issue the Press Pass at the Specified date.

LIST OF DOCUMENTS REQUIRED ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION OF REGISTRATION FOR JOURNALISTS/ PHOTOGRAPHERS/ CAMERAMAN PRESS CARD

• Forwarding letter from the Editor recommending the case.
• Take Four passport size photograph
• Copy of the appointment letter.
• Copies of three years experience certificate.
• Applicant will submit the requisite copies byline news/photo clippings of delhi Government in case of print media (atleast one news/photo clippings of each months of three years i.e 36 news/photo clippings.) and latest one year issues of papers at the time of considering its application for accreditation by DPAC.
• Copy of the current circulation certificate (RNI/DAVP/ABC/CA), registration certificate of RNI in case of print media and sales turn over in case of electronic media.
• Recommendation of two journalists signature.
• Four stamp size photographs.
• Copy of appointment letter.
• Copies of last One year’s issue of publication.
• Additional If any.

Eligibility

In order to get a press pass you're going to need credentials, or records that prove you work for a media outlet. Use previous articles or coverage that relates to the event you're interested in. It will benefit the promoters to see your style of work and your demographic as it pertains to the event in question.

Processing Time

For a new general Press pass will be given after 12 months of its publications.

Instructions

Describe your publication in the letter and state that you are requesting press passes. Include your position at the publication and how long you've been working there. Explain, in detail, what kind of coverage you plan to give the event and what kind of access you would like.

Need for the Document

• A press pass (alternatively referred to as a press card or a journalist pass) grants some type of special privilege to journalists. Some cards have recognized legal status; others merely indicate that the bearer is a practicing journalist.
• Press passes will generally get you into places that are note worthy for the press. You will probably be allowed to photograph a city council meeting, public government meetings and local news events.

• The press pass is issued to anyone who works as a full-time or part-time professional in the journalistic field. It facilitates numerous research activities, e.g. in your local area or at press conferences.
• In addition to journalists, some bloggers may be granted event passes. Many major events, especially trade shows, issue press kits to pass-holders. A press pass may allow the bearer to request interviews with noteworthy attendees, and special rooms are sometimes set aside for this purpose.
