Information which might helpEdit

  • A pollution (emission) testing center is a facility that tests the emissions of vehicles to ensure that they are not emitting harmful pollutants into the air. The test is typically conducted by a trained technician who uses a pollution testing machine to measure the amount of pollutants emitted by the vehicle's exhaust system.
  • Pollution testing centers are typically required by law for all vehicles to register and renew their registration. The frequency of testing varies depending on the type of vehicle and the state or province in which it is registered. For example, in California, all gasoline-powered passenger vehicles must be tested every two years, while diesel-powered vehicles must be tested every year.
