Apply Online

  1. The applicant shall use the following link to reach the online portal: Link
  2. In the given page, please click on the “NATIONAL PENSION SYSTEM” option provided on the right part of the screen to get a pop-up.
  3. The user shall go through the information provided and then click on the “REGISTRATION” option on the right part of the screen to reach the “Online Subscriber Registration” page.
  4. The user shall select the appropriate option as per the requirement. The user may choose any one of the way in which the registration need to be accomplished.
  5. Once the set of selections are made, please click on the “Generate OTP” button at the bottom if the selection is “Aadhaar” or “Virtual ID”.
  6. A new pop-up will be provided. Please click on the checkbox for the declaration and then click on the “Continue” button.
  7. An “OTP” will be sent to the mobile number. Please enter the received “OTP” at the prompted space against “Enter OTP” and then click on the “Continue” button to reach a new page.
  8. The user need to complete the sections provided. The applicant shall complete the prompts provided under “Personal Details” section as appropriate and then click on the “Generate Acknowledgement No” button to get an acknowledgement pop-up.
  9. Please save the acknowledgement details for future reference and then click on the “OK” button to reach the “Contact Details” section.
  10. Please complete the given prompts as appropriate and then process the “OTP” verification part for the mobile number and Email ID. This verification process is important for future communication from the department.
  11. Once the required details are filled in, please click on the “Save & Proceed” button.
  12. Now, please process the “Bank Details” section prompts as appropriate and then click on the “Save & Proceed” button to move on to the “Scheme & Nomination Details” section.
  13. The user shall select the scheme as appropriate and complete the corresponding prompt. Then complete the prompts for nomination part. Here, please provide proper spelling to avoid unnecessary problem at later stage. Once the details as per the prompts are filled in, please click on the “Save & Proceed” button.
  14. The user will reach the “Documents Upload” section. The user shall upload the appropriate documents using the “Choose File” button as applicable. Once the required documents are uploaded, please click on the “Upload” button.
  15. The user will reach the “Photo & Signature Details” section. Please upload the photograph and signature as appropriate and click on the “Confirm” button.
  16. The user shall check the sections and then choose the “Payment Details” section. Please process the payment prompts as appropriate and click on the “Confirm Payment” button and process the other set of prompts to complete the online payment requirement for the amount Rs.500. Once the details are entered, please click on the “Make Payment” button.
  17. A pop-up will be provided. Please click on the “Confirm” button after confirming the details.
  18. Another pop-up will be provided. Please click on the “Proceed” button to reach the online payment gateway page.
  19. Please process the online payment as per applicable mode. Once the payment is made, the “PRAN” number will be generated and it will be provided in the receipt page. This number will be active after five days only. Please note it and keep it safe.
  20. In the receipt page, please click on the “SAVE/PRINT PAYMENT RCEIPT” button to save it for future reference.
  21. In the same receipt page, the user need to click on the “OTP Authenticate\eSign Registration” button to reach the “OTP Authentication / eSign / View Subscriber Registration Details” page.
  22. Please choose the type, enter the captcha at the prompted space as applicable and click on the “Generate OTP” button.
  23. The user will receive “OTP’s” in their mobile number and Email ID. Please enter the received OTP’s at the appropriate prompts as applicable, enter the captcha as applicable and then click on the “Verify OTP” button.
  24. The user will get a new page with “OTP Authentication through Email ID and Mobile number completed successfully” and also, please click on the “here” link to download the system generated subscriber's registration form.
  25. Please follow the department notification and guidelines to get the card as per norms.


Apply through Point of Presence (POP) Corner,

  1. An eligible candidate shall approach the nearest “Point of Presence - Service Providers (POP-SP)” to apply for the “Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN)”.
  2. Contact link in the given page, please select the respective state from the dropdown list under the “Locate Your Nearest POP-SP” section against “State” and then choose the respective location from the dropdown list against “Location” for list of “POP-SP” contact details.
  3. Please visit the respective “POP-SP” and obtain the respective application form.
  4. The employee shall download the application form using the following Link
  5. Please complete the application form with the mandatory details including a valid mobile number, passport size photograph, email ID and signature at the appropriate space.
  6. Once the application is ready, please attach the required documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page and submit it to the “POP-SP” authority.
  7. After receiving the application, the authority will check the application and documents. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  8. Please pay the necessary fee as per authorities guidelines.
  9. The authority will issue an acknowledgement of receipt. Please collect it and keep it safe for future reference.
  10. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile number. Please keep track of the notification.
  11. The application will be scrutinized as applicable. Once the submitted documents and details are satisfactory, a “PRAN” will be generated.
  12. The “POP-SP” will forward the forms to “NDSL- CRA (Central Record Keeping Agency)” for further processing.
  13. On receipt of the application, the “NSDL- CRA (Central Record Keeping Agency)” prints the “Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN)” card and dispatches within 10 working days to the candidate by post or as per applicable norms.
  14. The status will be conveyed to the candidate through a “SMS” or as per applicable norms.


Apply In-Person at the respective office

  1. An eligible employee shall submit the completed application form for “Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN)” with their respective administration department.
  2. The employee shall download the application form using the following Link
  3. Please complete the application form with the mandatory details including a valid mobile number, passport size photograph, email ID and signature at the appropriate space.
  4. Once the application is ready, please attach the required documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page and submit it to the concerned administrative staff and follow their guidelines.
  5. After receiving the application, the authority will check the application and documents. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  6. Please pay the necessary fee as per authorities guidelines.
  7. The authority may issue an acknowledgement of receipt. Please collect it and keep it safe for future reference, if provided.
  8. This application may be forwarded to the respective nearest “POP-SP” or to the “NDSL- CRA (Central Record Keeping Agency)” as the case may be.
  9. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile number from the concerned processing department as appropriate. Please keep track of the notification.
  10. The application will be scrutinized as applicable. Once the submitted documents and details are satisfactory, a “Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN)” will be generated.
  11. The “NSDL- CRA (Central Record Keeping Agency)” prints the “Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN)” card and dispatches within 10 working days to the candidate by post or as per applicable norms.
  12. The status will be conveyed to the candidate through a “SMS” or as per applicable norms.

InstructionsEdit

  • The application form should be filled legibly in block letters and in black ink only.
  • The applicants are advised to affix a quality photograph on the application form, as the printed "PRAN" card will have the photo affixed.
  • The applicants are advised not to sign on the photograph.
  • The thumb impression should be attested by a Magistrate or a Notary Public or a Gazetted Officer under official seal and stamp.
  • In case, the Bank details are not available at the time of filling the form, applicant has to provide the Bank details within six months.
  • Don’t forget to take all the originals of the document along with a copy for filing.
  • Incomplete application will be rejected.
  • Avoid spelling mistakes while filling the application form.
