Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for inter caste marriage certificate, the couple shall approach the nearest office of the concerned collector / tahsildar / the designated appropriate authority for your area.
2. Link for the office contact details link Please select the respective district button. User will reach respective district portal. Here select “Directory” menu OR “DIRECTORY > Revenue Officers” OR “ABOUT DISTRICT > Who’s Who” OR “ABOUT DISTRICT > ADMINISTRATIVE SETUP > Wards and Panchayats” OR “DIRECTORY > PUBLICUTILITIES > Municipalities” as appropriate for the respective contact details AND Panchayat contact link in the given page please select the hyperlink against respective state as per requirement for contact details.
3. Go to the respective office and consult with the designated authority to know the applying procedure.
4. Collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.
5. Complete the application form. Attach all the documents as per our “Required Documents” section and submit it to the designated authority.
6. Authorities will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted with applicable fees as applicable.
7. Authorities will make entries about this application in the manual record or electronically using computer. The applicant will be provided with a record number as acknowledgement for future reference.
8. Applicant will be informed of the probable date of getting certificate.
9. This application will be processed further. Concerned authorities will verify the applicant’s details and submitted documents.
10. This certificate is issued based on the details given in the application, local enquiry, facts and records produced.
11. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile.
12. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.
13. If approved, the certificate will be hand delivered or sent through post to the address mentioned while applying or issued as per applicable norms.

Apply Online:

• Please go to the online portal Link for website
• Applicant has to use the “NewPortalUserCreation” option under portal user login section on the top right side part of the screen to reach registration page.
• Please complete the page prompts as appropriate to complete the registration.
• Once registered, in the home page use the login credentials under portal user login section on the top right side part of the screen as appropriate and click “Login” button to log in.
• In the given page, please select the “Apply For A Certificate” menu on the left part of the page and click “get started” option as displayed.
• In the resulting page, please select “Inter-Caste Marriage Certificate” from the drop-down list under certificate type.
• Enter the required information for application details, Upload supporting documents and make payment and generate acknowledgement (Receipt).
• Please save this acknowledgement for future reference.
• ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile.
• This application will be processed by respective department. Please follow the department notification and guidelines to get the certificate.
• Once the certificate is processed and ready for download, user shall print the certificate using the same online portal by log in.

Apply through Akshaya

1. Applicant must visit the nearest Akshaya centre. Link to locate the centre link
2. Applicant shall obtain application form from the centre or download using the link
3. Submit the completed application, documents and applicable fees as appropriate to the centre staff.
4. Application submitted will be processed by the counter staff. Up on successful upload, the applicant will be provided with a receipt having the application number.
5. Application will be processed by the respective department. SMS triggered update on application status will be sent to applicant mobile.
6. Up on notification applicant shall receive the certificate from where the application was submitted.

Note:

• Applicant has to bring original documents to the applying office while applying for cross verification purpose and scanning if required.
  
• Without cross signature on photograph and signature on undertaking, the application will be rejected
  
• Applicant may be asked to apply with the specific format as advised by the respective benefit providing government departments. In that case, applicant shall use the format to apply.

• Address proof of current residing address which should be on bride or grooms name (Proof of Address- Voter ID/ Ration Card/ Passport/ Driving License).
• Identity proof of bride and groom (Voter ID / Passport / Aadhaar card / Driving licence)
• Resident/Domicile certificate as per requirement
• Election/Voters ID
• Ration card of bride or groom as per the applying area
• Separate marriage affidavits (notarized) in prescribed format from husband and wife
• Combined photo of husband and wife
• 2 passport sized photographs as per requirement
• Aadhaar card

Note:

• Apart from the above documents, authorities may ask for additional information or documents. Please provide them for processing.
• All documents must be self-attested.

Eligibility

• Applicant should be a citizen of India.
  
• Applicant should be the permanent resident of the respective state.
  
• One of the spouses must belong to scheduled caste or as per the state norms are eligible to apply.
  
• The couple with marriage registration certificate are eligible to apply.
  

Fees

• Please pay as authorities quote while applying.
• Please pay the applicable Service Charge, Printing Charge and Scanning Charge as appropriate.
• Rs.18/- (Akshaya service charge) + Rs.7 (Govt.Service charge) + Rs.3 per page for scanning /printing
• SC / ST families need to pay Rs.10 + Rs.2 per page for scanning /printing

BPL families need to pay Rs. 20

Validity

• For a specified minimum period

Processing Time

• The whole process shall be completed within 7 days of receipt of the application while apply through “Akshaya”.

Instructions

• Any wrongful identification and certification of beneficiaries shall attract severe disciplinary action against the concerned.
• Do not submit fake documents as a proof to get this certificate.
• Incomplete application will be rejected.
• Avoid spelling mistakes while filling the application form.
• Applicant will be penalized if any information provided by the applicant while applying for this certificate is being found false or incorrect.
