Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for FSSAI license, you have to approach the Commissioner of Food Safety / Officer-In-Charge for Food Safety.

3. Obtain the application form from the respective counter OR download using the following link : Form
4. Please make sure you are eligible to make the application by going through the eligibility criteria provided under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
5. First download the Form from the link and fill all the required information and you need to submit the form to the Commissioner of Food safety department. The address is mentioned in the office locations & contacts section below.
6. Please complete the application form and make sure you have all the documents that are listed under “Required Documents” section of this page.
7. Pay the appropriate fees and submit the form to the Officer-In-Charge in the Food Safety department.
8. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
9. Authorities will inspect the facilities that are related to the FSSAI License and if they are satisfied with the standards followed the authorities will provide the franchise Permission.
10. The applicant will be later requested to collect the FSSAI License on a specified date.

Apply Online:

1. To Apply for FSSAI license, you can use the FOSCOS website. Please click the following link:FOSCOS Website
2. After visiting the link, you have to click the “CLICK HERE FOR FOSCOS" tab.
3. Click the “Login-Businesses” tab and Under User sign-in Box enter your user name, password and captcha code and Click on the “sign-in” button to login.
4. If you are a new user, then Click on the Sign up tab and fill all the required details and enter the captcha code and Click on the “Sign up” tab.
5. After that you will receive a mail and now the username and password will be activated for new users.
6. After successful log-in, Click on the License/Registration and Select the Apply for License/Registration on the Left menu.
7. Next select the state from the dropdown list box and read the Note.
8. Next select the kind of your business and Select your business type from the list of options.
9. Next Click on the radio button and finally click on the “Proceed” tab.
10. On the next page, Click on the “Click here to apply Central License for all Businesses”.
11. Next Form-B page will be displayed, fill all the required informations under premises details section and Click on the “Save & Next” tab.
12. On the Production selection page, fill all the details for DGFT Authentication and Click on the “Proceed with DGFT validation” to authenticate the details.
13. Next Click on the “Save” to save the authenticated details. After Successfully Proceeding with DGFT validation, Click on the “Save & Next”.
14. Next fill all the Communication details and Click on the “Save & Next”.
15. Under required documents section upload all the relevant documents and Click on the “Save & Next”.
16. Next pay the fees and submit the application.
17. After Successful Completing the payment, a receipt will be generated with a 17-digit reference number make a print of it and keep it safe for future reference.
18. You can track the application through the Home page.
19. This application will be processed by them and they will notify you through your e-mail or by SMS.

• Identity Proof Documents such as Ration Card, Department Issued ID, PAN Card, Passport, Senior Citizen Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Voter ID Card
• Proof of Expected Annual Turnover(self-attested)

• The FSSAI license is needed for all activities linking to Manufacture, Process, Storage, Packaging and Distribution of foods.
