Apply In-Person

  1. In Kerala EV policy has been drafted and is governed by “Special Task Force” for the state.
  2. As a buyer, please approach the dealer who deals with these Battery operated vehicle (BOV) vehicles. Make sure that this vehicle manufacturer is authorized by government for availing subsidy.
  3. They will have the form to be filled for availing the subsidy benefits.
    1. Please follow as per the guidelines. In case of any doubts go to the local RTO office for clarification (Electricity department is making arrangements for providing charging points at subsidized rates to increase usage).

  4. Applicant shall submit the application form for subsidy.
  5. If the requirement for availing the subsidy matches with applicants requirement, Applicant will be provided with reduced rate for the BOV vehicle while buying the vehicle itself or the subsidy amount will be credited to applicants account as applicable.



Apply online

  1. To Apply Subsidy for Battery Operated Vehicle, the applicant has to use the following link – link
  2. The applicant has to enter all the details in the form.
  3. Upload the necessary documents which is mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  4. Once completed, click the “Apply” button.
  5. Now the applicant has to select the nearest RTO office.
  6. There is no fee for this procedure.
  7. Also the applicant can print the application form for future reference.
  8. Once the verification process gets done by the officer, the applicant receives the notification through SMS or email.
  9. The applicant has to visit the office and the further details will be informed by authority.
  10. The processing time for this procedure is within a week.

Required DocumentsEdit

  • Application for the Purchase of Battery Operated Vehicle system under the Subsidy Scheme. (Application in writing or obtained online or from agencies) and one copy to be retained by dealers for record
  • Invoice accompanied by copy of Registration Certificate issued by State. (required for availing subsidy after purchasing vehicle)
  • Self-Certified copy of Residence proof - Electricity bill/ House Tax bill and
    • EPIC issued by Election Commission of India accompanied with the details of voter enrolment number for cross verification. Details on EPIC & Electoral Roll must tally to be considered.
    • Copy of Driving License
    • Passport and Ration Card
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Bank Account details
NOTE :
  • In case of two wheeler Battery Operated Vehicle, if same is not required to be registered under Motor Vehicle Act, then subsidy would be released upon production of invoice & physical confirmation of vehicle by the respective department as advised
  • Applications with Incomplete details/documents will be rejected out rightly

  • Residents of State
  • 2 wheeler vehicle has to be purchased from State.
  • Buy the product from the authorized manufacturer or agent.


FeesEdit

Fees related information can be dealt with the dealers at the time of purchase. Usually, such scheme related process doesn’t require any fees.


ValidityEdit

The subsidy benefit will be passed on to the consumer upfront at the time of purchase of the BOV itself by way of paying reduced price

InstructionsEdit

Subsidy would be provided to the residents of State on purchase of any Battery Operated Vehicle (2 / 3 / 4 wheelers) @ 15% of the vehicle's cost or Rs. 5000/- (Rupees Five thousand only) whichever is higher.

It will be provided on a first come first serve basis (10 No. of two wheelers, 5 Nos. of three wheelers and 5 Nos. of 4 wheelers) subject to availability of funds.
