Procedure

Apply In Person

1. To renew the Savings and Credit Cooperative (SACCO) License for deposit-taking Sacco, the applicant should make the application to the SACCO SOCIETIES REGULATORY AUTHORITY (SASRA). Please view the SASRA contact details through this SASRA Contact Details.
2. The applicant should obtain the license renewal form at the reception of the SASRA office or download the form directly through this Licence Renewal Form. Note that the applicant can also request for the ren
3. Read and complete the application correctly and then attach all the required supporting documents to the application form. Note that the form should be duly signed and executed before a Commissioner for Oaths.
4. Then the applicant should pay the application fees of Ksh. 3000 by drawing a bankers’ cheque in favor of SASRA or depositing the fee directly to SASRA A/C 01120161308700 and obtaining the payment receipt at attaching it to the application dossier.
5. Upon making the payment, the applicant should then scan the application dossier and send it to SASRA via email through this email address: [email protected]
6. The SASRA will then evaluate the application and approve it for renewal.
7. Once approved the renewed license will be sent to the applicant.

Eligibility

• Holder of a Savings and Credit Cooperative (SACCO) License for deposit-taking Sacco are eligible to apply for the renewal of the license annully.

Fees

• The application fee is Ksh. 3000.

Validity

• The license is valid for one year and it can be renewed annually.

Instructions

• The renewal application should be made to the Authority at least ninety days before the expiry of the current license that is on 30th September of each year in accordance.
• Late applications shall be liable to attract a penalty.

• Full (Current) Names of the SACCO Society.
• C.S. Number.
• Date of First Registration.
• Address and location.
• Details of former names of the SACCO society.
• Branch details.
• Names of places of business in Kenya and the number of years each has been established and has conducted or carried out business
• Former name(s), if applicable, by which the Sacco society has been known
• Details of Capital
• Particulars of Officers
• Names of Bankers and their Address

• The license proves that the SACCO is permitted to operate in Kenya as required by law.
