Procedure

Apply in Person

1. To renew a Cabin Member Crew Certificate, one has to complete and submit the prescribed Application Form for Renewal of Cabin Member Crew Certificate - FORM-O-PEL018 application form.
   
2. This form can be obtained by visiting the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority Branch Offices or by downloading it from their KCAA Website.
   
3. After filling the renewal application form you are required to submit them to the KCAA offices or you can forwarded them to the:-
   

   Director General,
   

   Kenya Civil Aviation Authority,
   

   P. O. Box 30163-00100,
   

   Nairobi, Kenya,
   

4. You are to submit the Cabin Member Crew Certificate renewal application form you are required to submit them together with all the required documents. These documents include:-
   

   (i). The current Medical Certificate Class 2.
   

   (ii). Knowledge and practical tests results’ slip. The knowledge test results for a cabin crew member certificate shall be valid for twelve months after passing the examination.
   

   (iii). 2 Passport size photos whose size should be 2cm b 2.5cm.
   

   (iv). A copy of a photo ID or Passport.
   

   (vi). A certificate issued by an Authorised Training Organisation indicating satisfactory completion of the training.
   

5. You are also to proceed to pay the prescribed renewal application fees and submit the payment receipt to together with the application documents.
   

   • An application fee of KSh.2,000 is charged for the certificate.
     

6. A processing time of 7 days is needed to complete the renewal of the Cabin Member Crew Certificate, after which you will be contacted through a phone call to collect your new license at the KCAA offices.
   
7. You will be required to carry your identification documents when collecting your certificate.

2. Endorsement on competency book.
   
3. Copies of the first 4 pages of this book should be in the application package.
   
4. The cabin crew member certificate on which the renewal dates will be typed.
   
5. A current class 2 medical certificate.
   
6. Payment of the prescribed fees Kshs. 2,000.

Eligibility

1. The applicant should be in possession of a valid/ expired cabin crew member certificate
   
2. A holder of a cabin crew member certificate may apply for renewal if the holder has successfully completed the annual safety and emergency procedure training approved by the Authority every twelve months. This is proven by an endorsement on their competency book.

• A fee of Ksh 2,000 is charged for this renewal application
  
• Charges for Air Navigation Services and Regulatory Fees
  
  

Validity

• The validity period of a cabin crew member certificate is one year.

Instructions

• The applicant should –
  

1. Complete the prescribed renewal application form,
   
2. Submit the completed form with all the required documents.
   
3. Pay the applicable fees and submit the payment receipt.
   
4. Wait for the processing period to elapse then collect your renewed cabin crew member certificate.

8. Whether you are able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language in accordance with the English language proficiency requirements of the Civil Aviation Regulations.

Need for the Document

• A person shall not act as a cabin crew member unless that person holds a valid cabin crew member certificate.
  
  

Information which might help

• Present a photo Identification Card or a Passport as a form of identification, details of which should be the same as the personal information provided on the prescribed application form; and if the applicant’s identity cannot be verified, the application will be rejected, and the applicant will have to return with the proper identification.
