- A person who wishes to register an aircraft in Kenya shall apply for aircraft acceptance by submitting a duly completed prescribed application form,Form: AC-AWS001C to the Authority.
- This form can be obtained by visiting the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority Branch Offices or by downloading it from their KCAA Website.
- In addition to the application form the following documents and or information should be submitted by the applicant to facilitate the aircraft acceptance evaluation exercise.
- (i). The full specification of the aircraft including the type, model, serial number.
- (ii). Type certificate or equivalent document.
- (iii). Supplementary type certificates (if applicable).
- (iv). Type certificate data sheet.
- (v). Statement of compliance on the civil aviation (Instruments and Equipment) Regulations 2018.
- (vi). Export Certificate of Airworthiness.
- (vii). Compliance with the current KCAA Aircraft ‘B2, ‘B3’, and ‘A9’ Notices.
- (viii). Copy of the current Certificate of Registration (if applicable).
- (ix). Serial numbers of major components (e.g. engines, and propellers as applicable).
- (x). Make and Part numbers of avionics and equipment installation.
- (xi). Airworthiness Directives (AD’s) status report.
- (xii). A copy of the current Certificate of Airworthiness (if any).
- (xiii). Current and historical maintenance records.
- (xiv). Availability of a KCAA Approved Maintenance Organization with capability on aircraft type.
- The application will not be accepted unless all the required information and documents have been submitted.

- (i). The full specification of the aircraft including the type, model, serial number.
- The application shall be for an aircraft, its engines, propellers, equipment and systems whose type Certificate complies with the Authority acceptable airworthiness code as specified by Regulation of the Civil Aviation (Airworthiness) Regulations, 2018.
- Upon submission of the application the authority will go through a rigorous evaluation exercise.
- NOTE: The application evaluation exercise is meant to establish that the attached documents are authentic, valid and relate to the subject aircraft. Documents and information that is not satisfactory must be rejected.

- If the aircraft that does not satisfy the acceptable Certificate requirements, the aircraft will be classified as Non-Compliant and cannot be accepted for registration.
- If the aircraft salsify’s the acceptable Certificate requirement, the Authority will move on to the next phase which is aircraft inspection.
- Upon acceptance of the aircraft documents a physical aircraft inspection shall be carried out. The time and place shall be pre-agreed between the operator/Owner and the Authority.
- Upon completion of a successful Aircraft documents evaluation and Aircraft Inspection, a recommendation letter will be written by the Authority and it is forwarded to personnel licencing office for issue of a Certificate of registration.
- Upon acceptance of the aircraft the following Administrative documents shall be submitted to the Authority by the applicant;
- (i). A document to prove aircraft ownership (e.g. Bill of Sale);
- (ii). Copy of a Government issued Identity Card or Passport as appropriate
- (iii). A certified copy of the Certificate of Incorporation if owned by a company;
- (iv). Names of directors of the company owning or leasing the aircraft and their specimen signatures giving authority to register the aircraft and indicating who among them has the mandate to transact on their behalf on matters of registration.
- (v). A certified copy of the Lease Agreement if the aircraft is on lease
- (vi). Letter of authority (if the application is made on behalf of the owner (s)
- (vii). A certified copy of a current aircraft insurance certificate
- (viii). Proof of payment of prescribed fees
- (i). A document to prove aircraft ownership (e.g. Bill of Sale);
- A certificate of registration will not be issued until a de-registration certificate from the previous State of registry or a statement from the State of manufacture in the case of a new Aircraft is received.
- Completion of this task results in acceptance and issuance of an aircraft certificate of Registration. The process takes approximately 90 days to complete.
- If everything is not in order you will be issued with a notice of denial.

EligibilityEdit
- An aircraft is eligible for registration if it is—
- either owned or leased by a citizen of Kenya, an individual citizen of a foreign State who is lawfully admitted for residency in Kenya, a corporation lawfully organized and doing business under the laws of Kenya, or a government entity of Kenya; and
- not registered under the laws of any foreign country.

- Submit the completed form with all the required documents.
- Pay the applicable fees and submit the payment receipt.
- Have aircraft inspection
- Wait for the processing period to elapse then collect your new certificate of registration.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- A person who wishes to register an aircraft in Kenya shall apply to the Authority for aircraft registration by submitting a duly completed prescribed application form No. AC-AWS 001A to the Authority.
- Registration Acceptance Application for aircraft registration is accepted only for aircraft of a type that is acceptable to the Authority.
- On completion of a successful documents evaluation, the airworthiness inspector issues the aircraft acceptance for registration note.
- No aircraft shall be registered without a registration acceptance note issued by the Authority.
