  • M-PASA registered customers can send money or transfer money to mobile numbers of both registered and unregistered M-PESA users. To send money, the M-PESA customer/user must have an e-value in their M-PESA account and have a valid M-PESA PIN.
  • Send money can be accessed via various channels as listed below:
    • STK (Sim Tool kit)
    • M-PESA Super App
    • Safaricom App
    • USSD *334#

Send Money via STK (Sim Tool Kit)

  1. To be able to transfer/send funds via STK (Sim Tool Kit), the Customer is required to be a registered M-PESA user, and should follow the following step:
  2. On their mobile device, locate the Safaricom SIM Tool kit and click on the App, then ;
    • Select M-PESA
    • Send Money
    • Enter the receiver phone number or select the number from your contact list
    • Enter the Amount one wishes/desires to send
    • Enter your personal M-PESA PIN
    • The sender will receive a message that prompts him/her to confirm the transaction details (Receiver mobile number and Amount)
    • A message will pop up with “Cancel or Ok”.  The sender can “Cancel” if he/she notices that the number entered is not correct or select “Ok” if the details are correct.
    • Another message will pop up with the name of the person you were sending money to, the amount the person will receive, and the cost of the transaction.
    • The sender can either select “1” to Accept (if the details given are correct) or select “2” to Cancel (if you notice an error in the transaction).


Send Money via M-PESA Super App

  1. To transfer funds via M-PESA supper App, a registered M-PESA user is required to first download the M-PESA supper App from Apple store or Google play store.
    Please note; when signing in for the first time, the user is required to turn on their mobile data connection / WI-FI to ensure a secure login.
  2. Users are encouraged to read through the “Terms and Conditions” before taking the action of either “Accepting or Declining”
  3. User who Accept the “Terms and Conditions” will be required to enter a valid M-PESA PIN for authentication
  4. Register your fingerprints or facial recognition to use in authenticating the transactions (For customers whose handsets have biometric features)
  5. To send money from the M-PESA SUPPER APP customers is required to initiate the following steps;
    • Open the M-PESA App
    • On the home tab select send and request
    • Select send money
    • Enter the receiver phone number or select the number from your contact list
    • Enter the amount one wishes/desires to send
    • Complete the transaction using M-PESA PIN or biometric authentication.
    • After a successful transaction process the customer will receive an SMS confirmation that funds have been sent from your M-PESA Account.


Send Money via Safaricom App

  1. To Send Money via Safaricom App, registered M-PESA customers will need to download the Safaricom App from Apple store or google play store

    • Complete the transaction using M-PESA PIN or biometric authentication.
    • After a successful transaction process the customer will receive an SMS confirmation that funds have been sent from your M-PESA Account.


Send Money via USSD

  1. Registered M-PESA customers should dial the USSD *334# on their mobile device, then follow the following steps;
    • Select send money
    • Enter the phone number of the receiver
    • Enter the amount you wish to send
    • Enter your personal M-PESA PIN
    • The sender will receive a message that prompts him/her to accept or cancel
    • Select “Accept”, to complete the transaction process.
    • After a successful transaction process the customer will receive an SMS confirmation that funds have been sent from your M-PESA Account.
