ProcedureEdit

  1. Obtain an Alien registration number from the immigration department (this takes two months)
  2. Apply for the KRA PIN which requires you to have the alien registration number. The application is done online.
  3. Visit any reputable and authorized driving school, such as the AA located at Sarit Center, Nairobi.

You must be a foreigner who is legally staying in Kenya and in possession of an International Driving License (IDL), and Personal Identification Number (PIN) issued by the Kenya Revenue Authority.

InstructionsEdit

  1. You can obtain an international driving license from your home country before you travel to Kenya, or you can purchase one from the Kenya Airports Authority, upon arrival in the country.
  2. Once you have arrived in Kenya and you intend to stay for more than three months and have the requisite documentation, you should visit any Authorized driving school to get your driving license processed.

Need for the DocumentEdit

All foreigners coming into Kenya are allowed to use their foreign driving/driver licenses for up to three months (90 days). When the three months expire, they are required to obtain a Kenyan driving license to continue operating motor vehicles on Kenyan roads.
