Apply In Person

  1. To apply for a Real Estate Broker Certificate, the applicant should make the application to the Estate Agents Registration Board under the Ministry of Lands & Physical Planning. Please view the Estate Agents Registration Board contact details through this Contact Dettails.
  2. Obtain the application form from the Estate Agents Registration Board office or download the application form directly through this Application For Registration as An Estate Agent.
  3. Read and complete the application form correctly and then obtain all the required supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below and attach the document to the application form in a single file.
  4. The visit the Estate Agents Registration Board office and pay the non-refundable application fee of Ksh. 1000 at the cash desk and obtain the payment receipt.
  5. Upon making the payment, submit the application file along with a copy of the payment receipt to the Estate Agents Registration Board officer at the service desk.
  6. The Estate Agents Registration Board officer at the service desk will receive and verify if the application dossier is completed as required then issue the applicant with the acknowledgment receipt of the application.
  7. The application will then be forwarded to the Estate Agents Registration Board for an in-depth review.
  8. The board will evaluate the application and upon successful evaluation, the applicant shall be invited to an interview with the board.
  9. upon receiving the invitation for the interview, prepare the originals of the following documents and visit the Estate Agents Registration Board to attend the interview
    • Original Academic Certificates.
    • Original Identification document or Passport.
    • Original Certificate of Good Conduct.
    • Original Letter of recommendation from a Registered and Practicing Estate Agent who trained the applicant.
  10. Upon a successful interview, the applicant will be required to pay the certificate fee of Ksh. 3000.
  11. Upon paying the requisite fee the applicant’s name will be entered in a register maintained by the board and the applicant will be contacted by the Estate Agents Registration Board after a period of three weeks to collect his/her real-estate broker certificate.

  1. To apply for a Real Estate Broker Certificate online, the applicant should make the application through the Estate Agents Registration Board online process via this Online Application Form.
  2. Complete the online application in block letters and upload all the required supporting documents.
  3. Once the form is complete all the required supporting documents are uploaded, the applicant should pay the application fees of Ksh. 1000 using the payment instruction provided in the application form.
  4. upon making the payment added the transaction code to the application form and submit the application form for processing.
  5. The application will be forwarded to the Estate Agents Registration Board for an in-depth review.
  6. The board will evaluate the application and upon successful evaluation, the applicant shall be invited to an interview with the board.

  • Where the name of a person is entered in the register, the registrar shall issue to him a certificate of registration in such form as the Board may prescribe and the certificate shall remain the property of the Board
  • The certificate remains the property of the board.
