- To register as a Veterinary intern the applicant should make the application to the Kenya Veterinary Board. Please view the Kenya Veterinary Board contact details through this Contact details link.
- The applicant should visit the Kenya Veterinary Board office and obtain the application form for registration as a veterinary intern at the registration department or the applicant can download the application form directly through this Application Form 40 link
- Then the applicant should legibly complete the application form by ticking the appropriate box for the intern and then obtain all the required documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below and attach the documents to the completed form in a single file.
- Then the applicant should pay the application fee of Ksh.500 through the bank details provided in the “Fees” section below and obtain the payment receipt.
- Upon making the requisite fees, the applicant should attach the payment receipt to the application file then visit the Kenya Veterinary Board office and submit the application file to the registration department.
- The officer in charge of the registration department will receive the application and issue the applicant the acknowledgment receipt of the application.
- Then the application will be submitted to the veterinary board for review.
- The board will review the application and the attached documents and if the application meets the required standards for registering the applicant as a veterinary intern, the board will approve the application.
- Upon approval of the application, the board will issue the applicant with a certificate of registration as a veterinary intern.

- The Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Para-Professionals Act allow for temporary registration of foreign Veterinary Surgeons under restrictions.
- Any person who practices veterinary medicine or surgery without having been registered by The Board commits an offense and shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding twelve months, or to both.
