A "family tree" is a self-prepared genealogy / pedigree by the family members that can be attested by a government body, generally a revenue official (or tahsildar).

Apply Online

  1. To apply family tree certificate online, the applicant has to use the following on link
  2. On that page the applicant has to click “Department Services”.
  3. In “search service” applicant has to search for attestation and click “Attestation of family tree”.
  4. The applicant can view the details and click “Apply Online” button.
  5. From redirect page the applicant is new user, you must first register on this portal by clicking “Register Here” button.
  6. After successful registration the applicant has to Enter the login details and click “Log in” button.
  7. Applicant has to fill the necessary Details & Photocopies details. Click “I agree” checkbox and fill the Captcha Code as given & click “Submit”.
  8. A fully filled form will be generated for applicant verification. Click “Attach annexures”.
  9. The applicant has to attach the annexures and click “save annexures”.
  10. Saved annexures will be displayed and click “e-sign and make payment”.
  11. Click “I agree” with above user consent and eSign terms and conditions and click “Select authentication type to continue”.
  12. The applicant has to enter Aadhar Number and click “get OTP”. OTP was sent to the registered applicant mobile number. Enter OTP and click “Submit”.
  13. Select mode of payment and Click “Make Payment and proceed”. Select payment method, enter the details and click “make payment”.
  14. After Payment completed Successful, Sakala acknowledgement will be generated to the applicant.
  15. The applicant want go to link website and click on track application status. Enter Application Reference Number and Submission date and click “submit”.
  16. Status of the application will be displayed.
  17. The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
  18. The processing time for this procedure is complete within 14 days.

Apply Through Nadakacheri Portal

  1. To apply family tree certificate online, the applicant has to use the following on link
  2. On that page the applicant has to click “Online Application”.
  3. Now the applicant has to click “Apply Online” button.
  4. From redirected to a page applicant have to insert phone number. Enter your mobile number correctly and click “Get OTP”.
  5. The applicant has to Click “Get New Request” and choose “Attestation of Family Tree”.
  6. Select the language applicant wish to receive a family tree certificate— English or Kannada- and provide the requisite user details.
  7. Choose the ‘Mode of Delivery’ based on whether applicant wish to receive it via Nadakacheri or a registered post. 
  8. Applicant has to upload any documents required for the family tree certificate and click “Save”.
  9. Proceed to click “Online Payment”. Choose the card type applicant wish to pay and proceed to pay.     
  10. Once applicant payment has been completed successfully, an acknowledgement number will appear for further application processing.
  11. Applicant can also obtain the family tree certificate from a Nadakacheri centre near your residence.
  12. The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
  13. The processing time for this procedure is complete within 14 days.

Apply In-Person:

  1. Applicant shall prepare the draft in word format describing the family tree structure.
  2. Buy an Rs.100 stamp / e-stamp paper or as per advised amount.
  3. Print the draft on the stamp paper.
  4. The applicant has to meet the notary public near you.
  5. The applicant has to submit the draft printed stamp paper along with the entire required document as per our “Required Documents” section.
  6. Notary public will read the printed stamp paper, Affidavit, certificate and cross verity the proofs.
  7. Once the verification is over, notary public will ask the deponent to sign the Affidavit/certificate.
  8. Deponent should sign at the notified place in front of the notary public.
  9. Notary public will seal, attest, sign, and make an entry in a notary book.
  10. This completes the execution of family tree certificate.

Attestation from nadakacheri

  1. In order to attest family tree certificate in Karnataka, applicant has to go to the respective Taluk, Nadakacheri office link in whose jurisdiction the candidate usually resides.
  2. Go to the respective office.
  3. Meet the operator in the nadakacheri office. The applicant has to provide the family tree draft as prepared by the notary public along with the entire required document as per our “Required Documents” section.
  4. Operator will process the request electronically using the computer. The applicant has to pay the required fees and collect the acknowledgement for submission of your request.
  5. This application will be processed internally. Once it is attested by respective revenue officer, certificate will be dispatched or handed over directly as per the request made while applying.

  • Those who are in need of inheriting property as per will are eligible to apply.

Stamp charges as appropriate (Hundred rupees stamp paper).
