Karnataka - How to Pay Electricity Bill

Electricity bill payment for the electricity consumed by a consumer shall be paid to the respective state electricity board (department).
“Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited” (KPTCL) is the electricity regulation board operating within the state of Karnataka.
In Karnataka, ESCOMS Carry out the business of distribution and retail supply of electricity in their ewspective areas as mentioned below.
1. BESCOM (Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited) has been entrusted with distribution of power to the districts of Bengaluru Urban, Kolar, Tumkuru, Ramanagara, Chikkaballapura, Chitradurga, and Davanagere.
2. MESCOM (Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited) has been entrusted with distribution of power to the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chickmagalur, and Shivamogga.
3. HESCOM (Hubli Electricity Supply Company Limited) has been entrusted with distribution of power to the districts of Dharwad, Gadag, Vijayapura, Bagalkote, Uttara Kannada, Haveri, and Belagavi.
4. GESCOM (Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company Limited) has been entrusted with distribution of power to the districts of Ballari, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Koppala, Raichuru, and Yadgir.
5. CESC (Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation) has been entrusted with distribution of power to the districts of Mysuru, Chamrajanagara, Mandya, Hassan, and Kodagu.
Payment of electricity bill shall be paid through
1. Cash counters

3. Pay through other sources

Tariff:

There are different amount charged for residential and commercial users. The rate of per unit charge varies with state to state and as per the slab decided by the respective electricity board.

Pay online

BESCOM CONSUMERS

User shall reach using the following link to pay online: [ https://www.bescom.co.in/SCP/Myhome.aspx online portal link]. In the given page, please select Login option from the menu at the top of the screen.
In the given page, user has to enter the Customer Id or Account ID and hit “Submit” to go to the next page.
The next page provided payment details for the entered customer information. User has to enter his mobile number, Email Id and Payment amount in the respective box then select the payment channel and hit “pay Now” to reach the Payment page.
In the payment gateway page, please select the type of payment and provide required details at prompted places and hit make payment to reach the successive page (Credit / Debit / Net Banking)
User should follow the screen prompt for the payment mode selected to complete online payment transaction.
Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgement. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.

Pay in person

Consumers shall pay their electricity bill in person at the respective Electricity board office / bill counter. Go to the respective counter and pay your bill amount along with the bill to make payment.
The counter staff will issue you the receipt for the payment made

CESC CONSUMERS

User shall reach using the following link to pay online: online portal link. In the given page, please click select “Quick Bill Pay” option from the ‘Quick Link” list menu at the right side of the screen.
In the given page, user shall select his account type as applicable “LT Consumer” OR “HT Consumer” and then select “MONTHLY BILL” from the options listed to reach the monthly bill pay page
Please enter Customer Id and enter the text as shown in the image in the respective box and finally hit “Proceed” to reach the Customer details page.
1. If you don’t know Customer Id, please use “Click to know your customer Id” option provided under Customer Id and follow the screen prompt to get the customer id.
Please go through the details and if all are OK, please hit “Pay Now” tab provided at the bottom of the page to reach Payment page.
In the payment gateway page, please select the payment gateway option(Credit / Debit / Net Banking) then click on the check box for “I agree for the terms” and hit “Pay Now” to reach the successive page
User should follow the screen prompt for the payment mode selected to complete online payment transaction.
Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgement. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.

HESCOM CONSUMERS

User shall reach using the following link to pay online: online portal link. In the given page, please select “online payment” option tab from the list of tabs provided to reach the next page.
In the given page, user shall select the zone from the options provided “RAPDRP ONLINE PAYMENT (URBAN AREA)” OR “NON-RAPDRP ONLINE PAYMENT (RURAL AREA)” to reach respective page for paying
RAPDRP ONLINE PAYMENT (URBAN AREA) users will have to enter the Account id and the text from the image provided and then hit “Continue” to reach the next page. (New user has to register using the “New user? Click here to Register” option as provided under Login section)
1. user has to select, “Pay Bill” option under Apply online section to reach the Pay bill page.
2. User has to enter the amount to pay, click the box “I have read….” and select the payment channel followed by selecting the “Pay Now” button tab to reach the payment page
3. In the payment gateway page, please select the type of payment and provide required details at prompted places and hit make payment to reach the successive page (Credit / Debit / Net Banking)
4. User should follow the screen prompt for the payment mode selected to complete online payment transaction.
5. Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgement. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.
NON-RAPDRP ONLINE PAYMENT (RURAL AREA) users will have to select “online payment” option as provided in the new page to reach next page
1. User has to select the Subdivision Name from the drop down list, RRNO and then customer ID. After the details are filled in, please hit ”Pay” tab to reach payment page.
2. User will be provided with bill details for the provided information
3. Please enter the amount to be paid and then hit ”Pay” tab to reach next page, here user has to enter the Email id and hit “Continue” to go to next screen
4. The resulting page displays option to make payment. Select the relevant option (Credit / Debit / Net Banking) and hit “Make payment” to proceed for the payment page
5. In the payment gateway page, please select the type of payment and provide required details at prompted places and hit make payment to reach the successive page
6. User should follow the screen prompt for the payment mode selected to complete online payment transaction.
7. Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgement. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.

GESCOM CONSUMERS

User shall reach using the following link to pay online: online portal link. And click the select appropriate option to reach next page.

R-APDRP Towns Area option to reach next page
1. In the given page, user has to select “Pay Bill” option under Apply online section to reach the Pay bill page. (New user has to register using the “New user? Click here to Register” option as provided under Login section)
2. User has to enter the amount to pay, click the box “I have read….” and select the payment channel followed by selecting the “Pay Now” button tab to reach the payment page
3. In the payment gateway page, please select the type of payment and provide required details at prompted places and hit make payment to reach the successive page (Credit / Debit / Net Banking)
4. User should follow the screen prompt for the payment mode selected to complete online payment transaction.
5. Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgement. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.
Gulbarga Zone Rural Area option to reach next page.
1. Once Gulbarga screen opens, click on online payment to pay your bill.
2. User has to select the Subdivision Name from the drop down list, AccountID and RRNO. After the details are filled in, please hit ”Pay” tab to reach payment page.
3. User will be provided with bill details for the provided information
4. Please enter the amount to be paid and then hit ”Pay” tab to reach next page, here user has to enter the Email id and hit “Continue” to go to next screen
5. The resulting page displays option to make payment. Select the relevant option (Credit / Debit / Net Banking) and hit “Make payment” to proceed for the payment page
6. In the payment gateway page, please select the type of payment and provide required details at prompted places and hit make payment to reach the successive page

Ballary Zone Rural Area
1. User has to select the online payment option from the option provided to reach next page.
2. In the given page, user has to enter the Account Number and hit “Pay” to go to the next page.
3. The next page provided payment details for the entered customer information. User has to follow through the page prompts. Once all the details are in place please hit the right button to reach the payment gateway page.
4. In the payment gateway page, please select the type of payment and provide required details at prompted places and hit make payment to reach the successive page (Credit / Debit / Net Banking)
5. User should follow the screen prompt for the payment mode selected to complete online payment transaction.
6. Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgement. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.

BESCOM Mithra Mobile App

This app can be downloaded using the Google play store. Link for download: Play store link
Once the app is installed, user has to login to access the options.
Once logged in, user will get the screen with options to choose, please select View / Pay bill option to pay.
Once the next screen reached, please provide the prompted details and proceed for making payment using appropriate option.
Once the payment gateway page is reached, user can select respective payment gateway option to make the payment.
Please fill in the applicable details and follow the screen prompts to progress for completing the online payment process.
Once the payment is made, an acknowledgement for the payment received will be prompted. User can save / print it for future reference

Other Apps to pay

Users shall use the private App’s to make payment of electricity bill. Please make sure with the respective department officials to confirm about these service providers to make payment.
Electricity bill can be paid through following apps Phonepe, Paytm, Amazon, Freecharge, Mobikwik etc,.

BBPS (Bharath Bill Payment System)

Use the following link to pay at your area BBPS outlet as per pin code: BBPS outlet link
Please select “find nearest Bharat BillPay outlet” option provided at the bottom of the page.
enter your pin code at the box provided and hit “Go” to reach the next page with contact details. Please follow the page to get the details of payment outlet and pay their directly
Use the following link to pay as per your Bank/Non-Bank for Quick Bill Payment: BBPS Quick bill payment option
Please select the Respective electricity department and follow the screen prompt and proceed further to make the payment

Apply through app

To Pay Electricity Bill, the applicant can download any type of payment app like Gpay link, Phonepe link, amazon pay link, Paytm link.
The applicant has to download the app by using the link.
First the applicant needs to completed the registration process.
For registration enter the mobile number and in registered number the applicant gets the OTP number.
Enter the OTP code and add on the bank account in the app.
For paying electricity bill, the applicant has to search for Karnataka Electricity Board.
To link the electricity account in the app, the applicant has to enter the consumer number.
- NOTE: Format of the consumer number – “Regional code, section distribution, and service number.
And enter the name (optional), and add the registered mobile number which is given in the electricity board.
The applicant gets the monthly payment amount.
Now, the applicant has to click the “Pay” button and enter the amount.
Enter the UPI password and the payment will be processed.
There is no fee for this app.
The processing time for this procedure is within a minute.

Electricity bills are generated with the slab rates applicable for the units consumed as per the state regulations
As a consumer, it is mandatory to pay prescribed amount as advised by respective board. (even the electricity is not consumed, each states has different default charges levied to its active consumers and the same has to be paid)
