- To Apply for Private Service Vehicle Permit, the applicant has to approach the nearest RTO office (Department of Transport) – link
- The applicant has to download the form from the following link – link
- The applicant has to enter all the details in the application form.
- Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents which is mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Submit the document along with the form to the RTO officer.
- The officer will check the submitted documents.
- Also, the inspection will be done for the vehicle to check the condition.
- The fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
- Once all the process gets completed, the applicant has to collect the permit by visiting the office.
- The processing time for this procedure is within 5 days.

- To apply for private service vehicle permit, the applicant has to visit the official portal of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways: Link to Portal
- In the homepage, please scroll down to “Informational Services” and click on the “more” button in the “Citizen Guide” tab.
- The applicant will be taken to the “Manual” page where all the available services will be listed.
- Please click on the name of the required service and click on “Step by Step procedure” from the drop down menu.
- The applicant will be taken to a new PDF page where the process for applying will be explained clearly.
- Please follow the steps to complete the application.

- Private Service Vehicle Permits are issued to institutions that operate the vehicle for their own use.
- An application for a permit to use a motor vehicle as a private service vehicle shall contain the following particulars, namely:--
- Type and seating capacity of the vehicle
- The area or the route or routes to which the application relates
- The manner in which it is claimed that the purpose of carrying persons
Information which might helpEdit
- One needs to provide the declaration to use the vehicle only for faring employees or laborers of a Company/Firm/Institute to ferry them to the place of business or back.
- Disproportionate asset case should not be pending against the vehicle for issue of permit.
