Karnataka - Apply for Community Certificate for Primitive Tribe (Caste Certificate)

Apply online:
- To Apply for Community Certificate for Primitive Tribe (Caste Certificate), the applicant has to use the following link – link
- If the applicant is a new user click the “Register HERE” button.
- The applicant has to enter the Aadhar number in the newly opened page.
- The applicant will get the OTP from the registered mobile number.
- The applicant has to enter the OTP number and click the “Allow” button.
- The applicant has to enter all the Email ID, Password, Phone number and click the “Submit” button.
- Now, the applicant has to login and click the “LOGIN IN”.
- The applicant has to select the respective department and the applying certificate.
- Enter all the details in the application form.
- Make sure that the applicant has to upload all the necessary documents which is mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to pay the application fee of Rs: 25.
- Once the verification process gets done, the applicant gets the notification through mail or SMS.
- The applicant has to collect the certificate by visiting the office.
- The processing time for this procedure is within 21 days.
Apply online through Janasevaka:
- To Apply for Community Certificate for Primitive Tribe (Caste Certificate), the applicant has to use the following link – link
- The applicant has to select the respective department and the caste certificate service.
- And select the required documents also, check the charges need to be pay.
- Enter the mobile number, name and click the “Generate OTP” button.
- The applicant will get the OTP in the given mobile number, enter the OTP and click the “Validate OTP” button.
- The applicant has to enter the address details.
- Select the time slot and click the “Book slot”.
- The applicant has to visit the office on the booking slot date.
- Carry all the necessary documents which is mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Further process of getting certificate will be intimate by the respective officer.
Apply In-Person:
- To apply for Primitive Tribe/ Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) Community Certificate in person, the applicant has to visit any nearest Municipality or Thasildar office or any CSC centre in his/her state of residence. In the new page, click on the appropriate button to get the contact details. Click on “ABOUT DISTRICT>>WHO’S WHO” or “DIRECTORY” or “Contact Us”.
- Also refer the “Office Location & Contacts” Section below.
- Visit the office and get an application form for Community Certificate from the relevant department.
- Complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections.
- Attest it with your signature once completed.
- Also make sure that you have attached all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
- Then, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office.
- After submission, your application along with the attached documents will be forwarded for further verifications.
- Once all the internal processes are over, the applicant will be notified to collect the certificate at the office.
Note:
- Before issuing a Community Certificate for Primitive Tribe, the Taluk and Panchayat Union Offices, as well as the Panchayat and Chavadi in the village, will publish the certificates belonging to these people on notice board to ensure that there are no objections against the applicants receiving the certificate.

The following are the eligibility criteria for a person to apply for a Primitive Tribe community certificate:
- The applicant should belong to a PVTG category
- The applicant should be an Indian citizen
- The applicant should have completed 3 years of age

- The Form Fee is Rs. 60 at Govt. offices.
- At private browsing centres it’ll cost between Rs200 to Rs400.

- In 1973, the Dhebar Commission created Primitive Tribal Groups (PVTGs) as a separate category, who are less developed among the tribal groups.
- In 1975, the Government of India initiated to identify the most vulnerable tribal groups as a separate category called PVTGs and declared 52 such groups, while in 1993 an additional 23 groups were added to the category, making it a total of 75 PVTGs, spread over 18 states and one Union Territory (A&N Islands) in the country (2011 census).
- Among the 75 listed PVTG’s the highest number are found in Odisha (13), followed by Andhra Pradesh (12).
- PVTGs have some basic characteristics - they are mostly homogenous, with a small population, relatively physically isolated, absence of written language, relatively simple technology and a slower rate of change, etc.
