Karnataka - Add New Member in existing Ration Card

Apply In-Person:
- Ration Card holder should approach any one of the nearest ration card Seva Kendras (Ration Shops) and start the process by going through Biometric authentication procedure.

- Applicant and the family members to be included should go in person to these centers.
- Please submit the set of document to the authority / officer in the office.
- After the document required are checked, online process will be initiate by the officer.
- Applicants need to provide Aadhaar based bio-metric authentication at the stage of filing application for inclusion.
- For children below 5 years, bio-metric authentication is not required but Aadhaar card is mandatory. This application will then be processed for addition. A fee of 50 rupees need to be paid for the service.
- The application is sent automatically to the concerned Ward/ Grama Panchayath official for verification. The concerned official visits the house of the applicant for verification and approves the request, if the applicant is found eligible.
- The applicant is informed through SMS at various stages i.e., Advance intimation about date of visit of the official to his place of residence for verification of his application, Approval/Rejection of his application.
- After ground level verification ration card will be issued in 2 – 3 weeks as notified by the department.
Apply Online:
- Visit the department website using URL linkand then select e-services menu.
- In the given page please Select “Amendment Request” from the e-Ration card option on the left side of the page to reach next page.
- On the next page select appropriate option for the region you belong to reach next page and select language choice and hit “GO” to reach next page.
- In the given page enter the “RC No” and hit “GO” to get another prompt down to select member name already in the respective ration card and click select Finger print then hit “Go” to get another drop down option.
- Here select capture to capture the finger print in the next window and hit verify in the same page to get another page.
- User will get details of name address and options to select in the new window.
- Please select ADD/EDIT / DELETE MEMBERS option then “printed copy through post” option on right side of the page and hit “Click here to proceed the application further” for getting the drop down screen with details of the card.
- User has to enter the aadhar number in the provided box and hit go to get a query. Please select willingness to share or not as per the query and hit go
- Please follow the screen prompts to include the new member. Now select go next to finger print and hit capture followed by entering the verification code and hit verify to get the next screen.
- Here user has to select the prompted details for relationship and other required prompted details and then hit save to get next screen. If the details are ok, hit submit to submit the request to process.

Apply through CSC:
- To Add New Member in existing Ration Card, the applicant has to approach nearby Common Service Center (CSC) Link
- The applicant has to select their state, district and block from the drop-down menu or the applicant can click on their respective district to find nearby center.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form.
- The applicant has to attach the required documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page (If required).
- Submit the completed application, document and applicable fees to the centre staff.
- Application submitted will be processed and receipt with application number will be issued.
- The applicant is informed through SMS at various stages i.e., Advance intimation about date of visit of the official to his place of residence for verification of his application, Approval/Rejection of his application.
- For further process, the applicant has to follow the instruction given by the officer.
- This entire process can be completed within 2 – 3 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit
- A valid ration card holder.
- The applicant and his/her family must be Indian citizens and should be resident of the state.
- The applicant or his family members must not possess any family card in any State in India (If they had one, it has to be withdrawn).
- The applicant and members of the family must be close relatives.
- New born above 5 years
- Addition of member name after marriage

Rupees 50 will be charged while filing application.
ValidityEdit
- Validity remains same
- Usually Family identity card is valid for lifetime and will be renewed in 5 years or based on announcement.
