Procedure

1. Obtain the form from the licensing department public service office.
2. Submit the form after filling to the receptionist, he will do the following:
   1. Review the application and make sure all required information is filled, and the form is signed.
   2. Review the submitted documents and their info is filled in the form.
3. Medical fitness check by the department doctor or the authorized medical center.
4. Stamp the traffic violations for greater Amman municipality and municipalities (in case the applicant holds a driving license of another class).
5. Apply the theoretical exam if the applicant passes the exam he can immediately take an appointment for the practical exam at the nearest time available according to the queue, but if the applicant fail in the theoretical exam he can reschedule another trial at least after one week and pay the required fee.
6. Take the practical exam:
   1. If the applicant fails: He will be handed a Notification showing his mistakes in the exam written by the examiner committee head, then he can go to appointment officer and reschedule the next practical exam after at least (14 days) and pay the required fee.
   2. If the applicant passes the practical exam: he should go to the reception for license issue purposes. His application will be sent to the reception employee from the examiner committee who will review the application and file it.
7. Pay the required fee.
8. Print the license with 10 years validity and give it to the applicant.

• National ID card or valid passport
• Employment certificate (for military personnel and copy of family book to show full name and national number)
• Qualification certificate from one of the authorized training centers certifying that the applicant received (10) theoretical lessons and (10) practical lessons, military applicants can provide classification letter for driver profession from personnel (classification of first class can apply for sixth; second class can apply for fifth, third for fourth).

• Recent Two (2) colored Personal photo size (6x4)
• Military service proof (for male applicants born 1989 and after)
• Security approval from criminal information department provided at the section where the application is accomplished.

Eligibility

• The applicant should be over 21 years for fourth category and two years at least should pass before he can apply for fifth class.
• The applicant must be over 23 years for fifth class, 25 years for sixth class.

Fees

• application fee for the first time: (18.15) JOD
• fee for applying or repeating theoretical exam: (5) JOD
• fee for taking or repeating practical exam: (10) JOD
• fee of issue five years valid driving license for the first time: (16.15) JOD

Validity

First, second, fourth, fifth, sixth class license is issued for one year for non-Jordanians.
