Jordan - Late Registration of Death and Obtain Death Certificate

ProcedureEdit

  1. Submit a report regarding the death to the Office of Civil Statuse for Jordanian families and for non-Jordanians it is submitted in the Office of Civil Status, which falls within the competence of the court that issued the decision. The report is incorporated with the final court decision to be submitted to the Admissions Officer in the Office of Civil Status and Passport to be audited as per the terms. You must secure an approval for your application from the Secretary of the office or his assistant.
  2. Submit all other required documents and pay the fee.
  3. Information written on the application will be checked, entered and stored in the computer database.
  4. After registration, the death certificate will be printed and add the updated information on the family book for Jordanians. The certificate will bear a stamp and signed by the issuing officer.
  5. The requested document will be issued to the person concerned after presenting proof that all fees relating to the procedure have been paid.

  • Final ruling from the competent court (Magistrates' Court) to register the incident of death.
  • Completed Death report form.
  • Family Book for Jordanians / foreign passport of the foreign deceased
  • ID card of the deceased in order to be canceled
  • ID card for the Jordanian applicant.
  • Passport of the non-Jordanian applicant.
