Jordan - Late Registration of Birth and Obtain Birth Certificate

- Submit a report regarding the birth incorporated with the final order from the court to the Admissions Officer in the Office of Civil Status and Passport to be audited as per the terms to the office of the family civil Jordanians, as for non-Jordanians one must provide a notice in the Office of Civil Affairs, which is located within the jurisdiction of the Court, which issued the decision.
- You must secure an approval for your application from the Secretary of the office or his assistant.
- Submit all other required documents and pay the fee.
- Information written on the application will be checked, entered and stored in the computer database.
- After registration, the birth certificate will be printed and add the updated information on the family book for Jordanians. The certificate will bear a stamp and signed by the issuing officer.
- The requested document will be issued to the person concerned after presenting proof that all fees relating to the procedure have been paid.
Required DocumentsEdit
- Final ruling of the competent court (Magistrates' Court) to register the incident of birth.
- Completed application form.
- Family Book if the head of the household is a Jordanian and the application approval from the secretary of the office or his assistant.
- Proof of identification for the applicant, who must be legally designated (parent, relative to the fourth degree etc.)
- Passport or proof of citizenship for the non-Jordanian head of the family and his wife.
- Proof of marriage (marriage contract) if the head of the family is non Jordanian.

Application may be submitted in the office of the Department of Civil Status and Passport where the family is registered or in the Office of Civil Status, which fall within the jurisdiction of the court that gave the judgment for non-Jordanians.

Need for the DocumentEdit
A Birth Certificate states the name and sex of a person, it also states the time and place of birth, it is issued after you have registered the birth of a child.
Births must be registered within 30 days, those that will remain unreported for over a year will fall on the late registration criteria.
