Procedure

1. The applicant has to contact the Civil Status and Passports Department who should be able to help you in getting the photocopies certified.
2. Please make sure you have all the required documents that are listed under the Required Documents section of this page.

1. Family book/ personal ID card.
2. The original document to be certified or its copy certified.
3. Stamps for 250 fils for certification for use within the Kingdom or for use abroad.

Instructions

• Documents can be certified for use within the Kingdom at all the Department offices, while certification for the purposes of using the certified document or a photocopy outside the Kingdom can only be carried out at offices at the centers of governorates.
• Documents translated at certified translation institutes and centers are not certified by the Department. The Department only certifies documents, namely birth ,death, and marriage certificates, it issues in English.
