Procedure

1. Obtain the Registration Cancellation Application from the Tax Department (public service office).
2. Fill it out accurately and clearly and submit it along with the documents that prove the cancellation to the departments bureau to obtain a registration number.
3. Your application is referred to the head of the Registration and Declarations Admittance Section to obtain approval on the cancellation and to have the data entered in the computer.
4. Attach the latest Tax Declaration when canceling your registration, which shows the tax payable on commodities you currently possesses at the time of canceling the registration according to their market value or cost, whichever is lower, in addition to an inventory statement that shows the commodities in your possession.
5. You will be notified in writing, by means of a registration cancellation notice, of the temporary cancellation of your registration effective the end of the tax period during which he or she submitted the cancellation application, and upon the applicants responsibility if proven otherwise.
6. Hand over the Registration Certificate to the department and your registration number is cancelled in the department.
7. The registrations cancellation remains temporary until all obligations payable to the department, if any, are repaid, or until the applicant is visited and his or her registration cancellation is verified. Then the registration cancellation becomes final, and the applicant is notified in writing of the final cancellation of his or her registration.
8. A copy of the cancellation letter is sent to the Audit Manager in order to send a verification committee to the applicant whose registration is cancelled to review the status quo and verify the reason for the cancellation.
9. When the applicant is required to re-register, he or he submits the Re-Registration Application (which is the same as the Registration Application) and follows the required registration procedures.
