Jordan - Apply for Restoration of Nationality
ProcedureEdit
- Requests to restore Jordanian nationality are submitted to the Office of the Interior Minister. You must obtain a letter from the Minister of Interior stating the approval of the minister's committee (Bureau of Nationality) permitting the restoration the Jordanian nationality of the applicant.
- Bring the approved decision of the Council of Ministers.
- Pay the fees.
- Your application will be forwarded forward the application to the Office of the Special Audit for Jordanian nationality for it's endorsement.
- Once your application is approved, the applicant will received a letter to be presented to the Office of Civil Status and Passport accompanied by the decision of the restoration to receive the documents.

- ID proof of the applicant.
- Decision of the ministry committee with the official letter of His Excellency the Minister of the Interior containing the approval of the nationality restoration.

- Arab nationalities: 1,000 JOD (converted using the Jordanian dinar exchange rate in the country where the applicant is a national)
- American States: 4,000 dollars

Citizenship represents the link between a person and a state or an association of states. Possession of citizenship is normally associated with the right to work and live in a country and to participate in political life. Individuals who used to be Jordanian nationals may apply to restore their citizenship except for those who obtained their Jordanian nationality through naturalization.
