Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for Institution / Bus temporary permit in Jharkhand the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to.

4. Make sure you have completed respective application form for the permit
   
5. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that can be completed and presented with appropriate fees
   
6. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down under the “Required Document” section of this page.
   
7. Please make sure that you are eligible for this procedure
   
8. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
   
9. After checking the vehicle for its correctness and other appropriate requirements the application will be processed. Important verifications for the permit include Vehicle condition, speed control apparatus, seating arrangements etc. will be carried by authorities.

Apply through Centres:

1. To Apply for Institution / Bus temporary permit in Jharkhand, the applicant shall visit the nearest CSC/Tehsil Centre. Find contacts to CSC centres in the link provided:Link
2. Procure the application form from the concerned centre and fill it up with the necessary details required for the card.
3. Make sure to attach all the "Required Documents" along with the application form before submission.
4. Provide authorized signatory and photograph, wherever applicable.
5. Now submit the application to the office of the concerned centre.
6. On successful verification, the applicant will be notified by the CSC centre.

Need for the Document

• Temporary permits are needed for serving the unexpected requirement, whereby a vehicle owner will use his bus for transporting School / Institution passengers.
  
• “educational institution bus” permit means an omnibus, which is owned by a college, school or other educational institution and used solely for the purpose of transporting students or staff of the educational institution in connection with any of its activities
  
• For identification these vehicles are usually painted in golden yellow color.
  
• Contract Carriage Permit is the most common type of permit granted for transport vehicle for the purpose applied for (Public transport / transport under contract)
