Apply In Person:

  1. To apply for Bar License Or Permit, the applicant has to approach the Department of Excise and Prohibition link
  2. The applicant has to visit the office and carry all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. Also, purchase the court stamp for the affix application.
  4. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  5. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  6. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  7. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  8. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee which is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
  9. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  10. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
  11. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  12. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  13. The applicant has to visit the office to get the license or through the post.
  14. This entire process can be completed within 4 – 5 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.


Apply online

  1. To apply for Bar License Or Permit, the applicant can make the application online via the FOSCOS website or tap the following link
  2. The applicant has to scroll down and click the “Apply License/Registration” menu
  3. Then the applicant has to select their respective state from the dropdown menu where the premises is located for which License/Registration will be obtained.
  4. Next, select the type of Business, Now Select the annual turnover of the business. After that Click on the “Proceed” tab.
  5. On the next page, click on “Click here to apply Central License for all Businesses”.
  6. The Next Form-B page will be displayed, fill in all the required information under the premises details section and click on the “Save & Next” tab.
  7. On the Production selection page, fill in all the details for DGFT Authentication and Click on “Proceed with DGFT validation” to authenticate the details.
  8. Next Click on “Save” to save the authenticated details. After Successfully Proceeding with DGFT validation, click on “Save & Next”.
  9. Next, fill in all the Communication details and Click on “Save & Next”.
  10. Under the required documents section upload all the relevant documents and Click on “Save & Next”.
  11. Next, pay the fees and click “Submit” in the application.
  12. After Successful Completing the payment, a receipt will be generated with a 17-digit reference number make a print of it, and keep it safe for future reference.
  13. The Applicant can track the application through the home page.
  14. This application will be processed by them and they will notify the applicant through his/her e-mail or by SMS.
  15. Once the process gets completed, the applicant will get the license through the post.
  16. This entire process can be completed within 4 – 5 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.


Apply through app

  1. The applicant willing to Obtain FSSAI License for Dairy Product Manufacturing must download the mobile app Food Safety Connect App.
  2. The applicant can download the app from the play store using the following link
  3. Once downloaded, the applicant must click the button “Apply for the license” on the main page.
  4. Then the applicant has to select their respective state from the dropdown menu where the premises is located for which License/Registration will be obtained.
  5. Next, select the type of Business, Now Select the annual turnover of the business. After that Click on the “Proceed” tab.

Different types of liquor licenses:

  • Beer and Wine Licence – For those establishments that wish to sell only mild liquors such as beer and wine. Bear in mind that such businesses should not deal in hard liquor
  • Restaurant Liquor Licence – For restaurants that wish to serve alcohol. This license applies only to those establishments that earn less than 40% of their total income from the sale of liquor
  • Tavern Licence – For businesses whose liquor sales make up more than half of their profits
  • Brewpub Licence – For establishments that brew their wine and beer.
  • Temporary Licence – To serve liquor at a party or event with less than 20 lakh people in attendance
  • FL-4 Licence – For people who wish to serve alcohol at a private party inside a private resort or apartment
