The Revenue Department of the respective State is the concerned department for the issuance of the Agricultural Labour Certificate. The tahsildar / designated authority is the competent authority to sanction this certificate.
Apply In-Person:
- To get the agriculturist certificate, one has to apply with the nearest office of the concerned tahsildar/ the designated appropriate authority using the link below for address details. Link: link
- The applicant must fill all the necessary mandatory information in the application as appropriate.
- Attach all the documents as per our “Required Documents” section and submit it to the designated authority.
- Authorities will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place the application will be accepted with applicable fees as applicable.
- Authorities will make entries about this application in the manual record or electronically using computer. The applicant will be provided with record number as acknowledgement for future reference.
- This application will be processed internally. Issuing authority will forward this application to the respective Village officer / Patwari to check the land records.
- Village officer / Patwari will cross-check the details submitted by applicant with the respective land records. #After the cross verification, a verification report will be sent back to the issuing authority.
- The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.
- If approved, the certificate will be hand delivered or sent through post to the address mentioned while applying or issued as per applicable norms.
Apply through CSC
- To Apply for Agricultural Labour Certificate, the applicant has to approach the nearby Common Service Centre (CSC) Link
- Note: The applicant has to select their respective district to find nearby office.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. Or the applicant to provide their details to the officer in charge.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form.
- The applicant has to attach the required documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page (If required).
- Submit the completed application and document to the centre staff.
- The applicant has to pay the service fee as per the authority’s request.
- The application submitted will be processed and a receipt with the application number will be issued.
- The applicant is informed through SMS at various stages i.e., Advance intimation about the date of the visit of the official to his place of residence for verification of his application, Approval/Rejection of his application.

EligibilityEdit
- The citizen who needs the agricultural labour certificate should be a permanent resident of the respective state while applying.
- A person in the age group of 18 to 65 years (or as per the age limit fixed by respective state) is eligible to apply.
- Those who are holding wet land not exceeding 2.50 acres or dry land not exceeding 5.00 acres under a registered tenancy agreement and carry on direct cultivation of that land are eligible to apply. The land area limit may vary with respect to the State.

- “Agricultural labourer” means, any person in the age group of 18 to 65 years, engaged to work in agricultural or allied agricultural operations for wages but who does not own any land.
- Incomplete application will be rejected.
- Avoid spelling mistakes while filling the application form.

- Agricultural labour certificate is mandatory to apply or to get the relief or assistance for marriage, accidental death or injury, natural death, funeral expenses, old age pension etc.
- The children of the agricultural labour require this certificate to get admission in the educational institutions as per quota.
- This certificate is required for the education assistance for the Children of an agricultural labourer.
- When an applicant gets agricultural labour certificate his/her details will be recorded in the database of the revenue department. This database will be useful for the department to provide any of the grants or help from the government.
