Apply In-Person

  1. To obtain a Marriage certificate , you should visit the Register General Department (RGD) office in the perish where the marriage occurred, please view the RGD contact details and location map via this ink: Link and the RGD Branch contact via this link: Link/branches
  2. At the end of the wedding ceremony, the Marriage Officer or Civil Registrar will issue you a signed copy of marriage register or certificate. Afterwards the marriage officer will visit the RDG office of the perish where the marriage occurred and register the marriage
  3. Then take the marriage register/certificate issued to you by the marriage officer to the RGD office, where the marriage is registered along with all the required supporting documents for processing of a certified marriage certificate.
  4. Pay the required application fees at the RGD cashier window and have documents verified by an RGD official at the service section
  5. The RGD official will confirm your application and if it’s correct, the official will forward the application to the necessary department for processing.
  6. Then the application will be approved and you will be issued with an actual certified marriage certificate.


Apply Online - Marriage Certificate Online with Images

  1. Once the marriage has occurred, the Marriage Officer or Civil Registrar who performed the wedding ceremony registers the marriage and issue you a marriage register/ certificate with particulars of the marriage
  2. Apply for the marriage certificate online via the RDG online application portal through this link: Link
  3. Read the provide information and proceed to the “Marriage Certificate” application form if you have the marriage officer name, click on “APPLY NOW” to fill the online application form and if you don’t have the marriage officers name, click on “Click Here” sign to obtain the officer’s name by filling and submitting the application form: Link
  4. With the marriage officer’s name Complete the form under “Apply Now” accurately providing all the required information to avoid unnecessary delays on your application and then submit it for processing
  5. Once submitted you will be required to pay the necessary application fee according to the number of copies that you have applied for
  6. Once the payment is complete, the RGD will process your application and issued you the marriage certificate

  • Additional Copy: J$ 500
  • Two Copies: J$ 2250


In addition to these fee

  • For processing within 7 to 10 days: J$ 1000
  • For express service within 3 to 4 days: J$ 2500

  • Marriage certificate is valid forever unless the marriage is rendered null and void in the court of law
