Apply In-Person

  1. To export commercial items from Jamaica you must register with the Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) either as an Individual or Company (for registration details please view Wikiprocedure: Jamaica-Register as An Exporter) you can also view JAMPRO contact details via this link: Link, By registering you will also be able to seek permission from the Collector of Customs before exportation. For example, you need permission to re-export goods that have been denied entry into Jamaica
  2. Upon registration, obtain the necessary export permit for your commodity from the relevant government agency for example the Trade Board, Ministry of Agriculture, Coffee Industry Board, National Environmental and Planning Agency (NEPA), etc.
  3. Then Consult with the Bureau of Standards for general information regarding your commodity standards as well as labeling and packaging specifications and requirements for export to various countries.
  4. Purchase and complete Export Entry Form C82 available at the Trade Board or the offices of the Jamaica Exporters Association.
  5. Complete all other relevant commercial invoice forms as well as export documents, all of which are available at the Trade Board. I.e., CARICOM - CARICOM Invoice, Canada - Canadian Customs Invoice and for other Markets - Commercial Invoice or C23
  6. You may also contact the Certification Unit at the Trade Board to determine whether your commodity qualifies for any preferential treatment in the overseas market. If yes, you will need to purchase the relevant form and obtain the required Certificate of Origin
  7. With the necessary documents, you can opt to export your commodity either by Sea or by Air


Exportation by Air:

  1. Complete the declaration using the E-SAD system within ASYCUDA WORLD:Link note that if you are a first-time exporter, you must register with ASYCUDA by emailing a request for an account to [email protected]
  2. Obtain and complete customs entry, invoice, certificate or permit (where applicable), tally sheet, and dispatch form.
  3. Contact Jamaica Customs Contraband Enforcement Unit 24 hours before loading goods into the container through their contact number: 923 7641 or 7573912 for inspection of the Goods
  4. Then submit all the required documents and goods to the customs export office for assessment, signing, and numbering
  5. Upon approval by customs, proceed and pay the customs processing fees and then deliver the cargo to the airline's warehouse
  6. Then submit the tally sheet along with the dispatch form to the airline representative who will facilitate the entry of goods into the warehouse ready for exportation upon payment of the airline’s export fee
