Jamaica - Apply for Music and Film Copyright Notice

Apply In-Person
- To give a music and film copyright notice, you should make your application to the Jamaica Intellectual Property Office (JIPO). Please view the JIPO office location map and contact details via this JIPO contacts link.
- visit the JIPO office to obtain the Music and Film Form. You can also download the form from the JIPO website Application forms link (find “Music and Film Form” under COPYRIGHT).
- Complete the notice form accordingly and obtain the copy of the work you are issuing the notice for and attach it to the form.
- Then visit the JIPO office and pay the necessary fees of $500 payable to the Commissioner of Customs and obtain the payment receipt.
- Then submit your complete application along with your work and the payment receipt to the JIPO official at the service desk for verification.
- The JIPO officer will confirm that the notice form is completed correctly and forward the application for further processing.
- The notice will be processed and submit to Jamaica customs to execute the request for the notice.

The notice provided protection against any infringing Copies of a Sound Recording or Film to be imported into Jamaica.
