Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for the Ministry of Education Tertiary Scholarship, you should check with the Ministry of Education, Youth and, Information (MOEY). Please view the MOEY’s contact details through this link:Link
2. To obtain the application form for the scholarship offered for the current academic year, for example, 2021/2022 academic year, visit the MOEY’s website:Link
3. Move your cursor to point at the “Key Links” drop-down menu under the information bar and then select “Scholarships” to be directed to the Scholarships page
4. On the scholarship page, you will find details of the offered scholarship for the specified academic year. Like in the instance of the 2021/2022 academic year. Note that scholarship information provided by the ministry will include the specific institution or university that you should be studying at and specific areas the scholarship is offered to.
5. Then download the provided application form on the scholarship page
6. Read the institutions provided on the form and complete the form as instructed and have the form completed by your referee/s
7. Prepare the required supporting documents and attach them to the duly filled application form
8. Submit the application along with the required supporting documents to the Office of Post Graduate Studies and Research in your university as specified by MOEY on their scholarship page. Note that there is a deadline for submitting your application
9. Once you have submitted the application, it will be forwarded to the ministry for processing by the relevant division
10. If your application is successful and you have been awarded the scholarship, the scholarship funds will be disbursed through your learning institution finance department or bursar

Required Documents

• Application form, filled and signed
• Valid evidence of acceptance/registration at the learning institution
• Three letters of reference from certified referees
  • Academic reference from a Professor/Department Head who can speak to your academic accomplishments.
  • Professional - from supervisor or colleagues who can speak to your professional responsibilities and accomplishments.
  • Character Reference
• Certified copies of an official transcript of grades or similar proof of academic standing
• Certified copy of your birth certificate or evidence of the date of birth
• Certificate of fitness from a Registered Medical Practitioner
• Two recent passport size photographs
• Certificate of domicile signed by a Justice of Peace (J.P.) official or Minister of Religion or any other reputable members of the community.
