Apply In-Person

  1. To have your imports inspect by the Ministry of Health, you should go to the Ministry of Health (MOH) office to submit you inspection requiest. Please view the MOH contact details through this link:Link
  2. Prepare your import declaration and other supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below
  3. Submit the complete documents to the relevant department at the MOH office and advice the responsible official when the goods will be available for inspection
  4. The MOH official will receive your application and stamp the document as “To be Inspected” and return the documents to you
  5. Then the MOH official will allocate an inspector to inspect the goods on the scheduled date
  6. Then the goods will be inspected either at the port, cold storage, or your premise and the inspector will determine if the goods can be released
  7. If the imports can be released to you, the import declaration will be stamped and signed as “Approved’ and returned
  8. If the goods can not be released, they will be detained and you will be issued a seizure notice and the notice will be copied to the customs. Note that you can appeal the dentation decision and have your goods re-inspected
  9. If the goods are detained, and they do not require any testing, they will be condemned for disposal, and once disposed of, you will be issued a disposal certificate
  10. If the goods require testing, a sample will be taken and tested by the public health who will test the goods to determine if they meet the required standards. If the goods don’t meet the required standard they will be condemned and disposed of in this case you will be issued a disposal certificate
  11. If the goods are tested and it is determined that they meet the required standards, the public health will issue a notice of release and forward it to the customs and notify you of the approval
  12. Your import declaration will then be signed as proved and returned to you
