Apply In-Person

  1. To apply for a Butcher License in Jamaica Kingston and St. Andrew, you should submit your application to the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC). Please view the KSAMC contact information through this link:Link
  2. Visit the KSAMC office and obtain the application form for Butcher License.
  3. Complete the form in three copies and have it endorsed by an inspector of the local police
  4. Then prepare the required documents and attach them to the application form
  5. Go to the KSAMC premises and pay the application fee at the cashier and obtain the proof of payment
  6. After payment, submit the complete application including the payment slip to the KSAMC official at the service desk
  7. The official will verify your application and issue an acknowledgment receipt for receiving the application
  8. It will then be forwarded to KSA public health department for processing
  9. Then public health department will contact you and schedule a date to inspect your site of operation in conjunction with the local police
  10. Upon the health inspection, the department will present your application and the inspection report to the Public Health Committee meeting for the committee’s consideration and approval
  11. If approved, you will be contacted by the health department and required to collect the license at the corporation’s office

  • The application Cost is $3,000 - $1,500 for the three application forms and another $1,500 for the actual licence.

  • The license is valid for the period indicated on it and it is subjected to renewal
