Apply In-Person
- To apply for the Customs Broker Clerk Identification, you should make your application to the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA). Please view the JCA contact details through this JCA contacts Link.
- Obtain the customs broker’s clerk identification application form from the JCA office or download the form from the JCA website - Application forms link (please find “Application for Broker Clerk's ID”).
- Read and complete the application form in duplicate and then write an application letter stating the basis of your application and at it to the application form.
- Prepare the rest of the supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below and attach them to the application form in a single file.
- Visit the JCA office and submit your application to the office of the Director of Customs House Operations.
- Your application will be verified to determine if it is complete as required and if you meet the required criteria for your application to be considered.
- Then the application will be forward to the Customs Broker Licensing Advisory Board (CBLAB) for review and consideration for further processing.
- Your application will be assessed by the board and then the board will forward their recommendation to the commissioner for approval.
- The commissioner will deliberate on the board’s recommendation and grant the approval for the issuing of the broker clerk ID.
- You will then be informed of the commissioner’s decision through your contact details and required to pay the relevant processing fee.
- Upon payment of the processing fees, the clerk’s identification will be processed and issued to you.
