Apply In Person
- To apply for the Agriculture Incentives, you must be a registered farmer with the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) under the Ministry of Industry Commerce, Agriculture, and Fisheries. For registration of your farm, you need to visit the RADA office in your locality to submit your application, please view RADA contact details and location map via this link:Link
- Visit the RADA offices located in your farming community in person, to collect the application form and a checklist for the required supporting documentation.
- Complete the application form accordingly and obtain the required supporting documents and attach them to the complete form. Note that the application should be addressed to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry Commerce, Agriculture, and Fisheries.
- Once your application form and the required supporting documents have been completed, signed, stamped, and certified where required, visit the RADA office to submit your application for the farmer/producer status registration to the RADA Officer at the service desk.
- The RADA official will verify the application and the attached documents then forward the application for processing by the relevant authority
- Then RADA will send an inspector to inspect the farm and write a report
- Then the formal report regarding your application will be sent to the ministry for further review and processing
- Once the application has been approved by the ministry, they will refer it to the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA) Incentives Unit indicating the approval along with your dossier and supporting documents.
- Upon receipt of the Ministry’s recommendation, JCA will undertake its own verification assessment including visiting the farm of operation to authenticate the application
- JCA will compile the report regarding the application and forward it to the Commissioner of Customs for the final determination regarding the designation of your status and then JCA will advise you of the final determination regarding your status.
- If approved, JCA will enter your information into the JSWIFT platform and you will be issued a written notification of your Farmer/Producer Status
- Finally, you will be able to access incentive benefits related to the agriculture sector through the Productive Inputs Relief (PIR) scheme

These are some of the benefits of having a Registered Farm:
- Access to Productive Inputs Relief (PIR) and other key Incentives
- Access to disaster relief claims
- Access to market facilitation services
- Access to receipt books issued by the Jamaica Agricultural Society (JAS) under the amended Agricultural Produce Act
Productive Input Relief (PIR):
- Duty-free importation of certain agriculture industry-related items, used in the following operations: farming, apiculture, forestry, horticulture, and aquaculture operations.
- Additional Stamp Duty (ASD) exemption, under the Revised Stamp Duty Act, where companies can benefit from the following:
- Relief from the additional stamp duty on raw materials and non-consumer goods, when these are being purchased for productive use.
Required InformationEdit
- Name and address of the farmer.
- The location of the farm
- The land tenure/proof of ownership
- Number of acres (size)
- Description of your production activity, that is, the agricultural activities being carried out.
